As for the semi-turn, I have read it is a good idea & recommended by alot of incubator companies and Stromberg's "better hatching" says it is good to do, so I am.
I usually candle at lock down...and maybe you have seen the tipped air cell from the baby being rocked side to side ?
The air cell is not flat on the bottom but upside down V shape unless the egg is twisted in it's hole in the turner.
So it has been said to give a half twist ...

Is he getting his own policy?
If so that will not stop anyone from going after you being under 18 you are still liable.
It has been spread around for years if you have your kid get their own policy then if they get in wreck doing more damage then the policy covers as well as the wreck going on your policy record you can eliminate that. Not true.

If he will be is on your policy you need to do some insurance shopping big time.

Try Allstate. I shopped my policy every where when I added my daughter and they were the cheapest.
She is costing us $63.00 a month.​
