Will I be able to put these little guys with the new hatchers? They're set to hatch on the 11th so my first little guy will be well on two weeks by the time everyone else hatches. Or will they be too old to go together?
And yay for the knew buddy I'll pm you and see when I can get the little guys friend!

Also, since when did quail jump?! I never knew that but it's the cutest funniest thing I've ever seen ahahah

They jump a lot! I call em poppets for a reason

I think since your single peeper is alone he/she will accept a pair of day olds.... the others that hatch may be to young by then.. how is the little one doing? any new photos? they grow so fast!

Oh dear... mighta just tipped me over the edge here...So glad to have this to refer to. Now I can see how much trouble I might just get into. Leads me to wonder what will I do with all those eggs? When I moved to this house, a friend gave me 5 EEs she didn't want anymore. So of course, I needed to add to that. My neighbor on the right complained that my rooster woke her up. Now, she has a dozen birds. My hens wandered over to the neighbor on the left and she fell in love with having my little girls wandering over her 5 acres. So, now she has a couple dozen. The neighbor up the street fell head over heels with the poultry and now she has a couple of dozen... So, can't sell to neighbors. My daughter has dozens of chickens, geese, ducks... that supplies my family.
Guess I'll head to the little Mom and Pop store and see if they will sell my eggs.
Cuz I NEED MORE CHICKENS!!!!

He's doing great! Full of energy, the little llama stuffy I put in there is his new favorite pal. He sleeps with it all the time. I can post a picture in a few minutes

I think that coop is pretty nifty. What do you use the other shed for? If I might be so impertinent? Did you build it? How do you cut the boards at the corners to allow the slant on the roof? Is the angle cut on the corner posts or on the ... joists? Is that what you call the roof boards? Nope, they is called rafters, right? Anyway, which piece of wood gets the angle cut? I think I can manage building a shed style coop by myself. I did it once before but out of alder poles I cut in the woods and scrap lumber and old recycled sheet metal roofing.
Thanks Imp

Thanks cackleberrylinda,
The other shed is just my garden shed. I looked for a better pix, but have none on my computer.
I did not build it, it came with the house. It was built in the 70's. The boards on the side are not individual boards, but I think it is like a sheet of a beadboard siding. It's stick built inside, but is really 2 sheds. The left 2/3rds was originally a little girls playhouse, had a spiral staircase that went up to a flat roof with a railing. The right 1/3 was added later as a garden shed. After the girls quit playing with it, the roof was put on and the entire inside was connected and became 1 large shed. I can't imagine trying to build something like that by myself, so I'm impressed with that you built one.
I don't know if it's any help, but a couple years ago I was wandering around Mclendons and saw a kit for building a shed. It had the connectors for studs, rafters etc. You just decided what size and bought the appropriate lumber.

Russ

That sounds pretty good. Using a kit could help me get my feet under me again figuring out how to put it together. I also bought the Building Coops for Dummies, for which I absolutely qualify. I built that very very rustic coop about 20 years ago and now I have to take into consideration what my bod can and can't do. I guess I can do it if I want to. Maybe just slower, more careful and with lots of breaks...

and good luck
