Good for you DD. My DD just started piano, she loves it. I am so glad that she does. Congratulations to your DD...I hope she is happy.

Thanks...She was floating out the door to college this morning! She's doing the Running Start program so that she can get her AA and diploma at the same time. She loves her music professor and was so excited to be able to go and tell her.
Take lots of video of your little piano player cause you'll be amazed what they can do even 2 years later!

Thanks! Seeing her face last night made all those days of prodding her to practice and all those $$ very worth it!

But I found this: http://bassequipment.com/Cages/Chicken+Cages/default.aspx and the shipping is only $31.50. So I emailed and asked a lot of questions....I would like swing-out doors and deep litter pans, rather than wire floors--I'd like to use these for broodies, a brooder, isolation, etc. Oh and I don't want the kit with the wheels....they would have to mount on the wall high enough that my feed garbage cans can go underneath them.

Gorgeous gorgeous birds! I love your Sussex. A light Sussex is the one bird my husband has requested as "his". Since we're having a flock of 6, DH and DD each get to pick one as their own, which makes the other 4 mine I guess since I'll be doing the feeding and cleaning. But boy howdy, thank you for another rain free day - those guys are down in the yard right now working on my coop! It is going to be one substantial structure. I will never be able to move it as it's cemented in the ground and will have a fully shingled roof so I hope it's going to work out where they placed it. Funny. It's not looking much like my plans at all anymore...

Thanks! I've got an auction right now for "test" eggs.

? My incubator isn't here yet, but should come this week. I've never hatched anything myself in an incubator. Would this be a suitable purchase for a first timer? Or would you prefer someone more experienced for your test eggs than a hatching trainee? Maybe I better go check out that auction before I put my whole foot in the water...

It doesn't matter to me...a tester is a tester. All I'm concerned about is not only fertility but how they develop after shipping. Most of these eggs are from 2nd year birds and fertility was great last year but with the frostbite (mild) to my roo and two young pullets just beginning to lay, I thought I'd better check just in case. There are lots of people on BYC (myself included) that will help you with the candling & incubation process.
