I was told not to wash my eggs, as it was not good for them. Thoughts everyone? I just wipe them off with a paper towel. My oldest DS was mortified...he tells me, "you do know they come from a chicken's but"...."Yes, dear I realize that. That is why I tell you to wash your hands after handling eggs". Sheesh, how stupid does my 17 yo think I am?

I wonder if the thing about washing the egg is more about how much it is handled before it is put into incubation. After all there are members that have hatched eggs from Trader Joe's successfully.

It just occurred to me that someone that has a problem with where the egg comes from, must not have ever been truly hungry. I can't ever remember worrying about where the egg came from as a kid or a teenager. But then I was raised with a mother that grew a garden that was important to the family.

Unfortunately, my boys did not have to do much "farm" type work. I grew up on a farm...haying, raising our own pork, beef, and rabbit. Huge vegetable garden. Froze and canned tons of things. My kids have not had any of that and part of me is glad they did not have to....but I think they would appreciate things more if they had.

My oldes is 6'2" and 240" (I know this as we just got back from a wrestling tournament)....no he has never know what it was like to be hungry.

I was pretty sure you had said you weree going on the 10th but who am I to say. My own life sucks so who am I to say somebody is confuzzled.

I think I have figured out tthe reason I seem to not be seeing so well. I have cataracts in both eyes. Also today I found out through the grapevine that a good friend was on his way to Seattle he has Cancer. I am a little hurt that his DW didn't tell me but maybe she hasn't had time. He also just had heart surgery and I haven't been to the house but (Iknow this is no excuse ) but I have had issues of my own and the last time I talked to his DW she said he was home doing good and needed rest.

Ha, well, I did apologize ahead of time. I couldn't help myself. Besides, it was just my humble opinion. Don't worry about me, continue on.

I am telling you all the guy in the picture is blonde and my Tudy has black hair. So it isn't my Tudy.

So it would be really really bad if I e-mailed my Tudy and ask him to post his picture with him shirtless wouldn't it?

LOL...
I had written in DD's baby book some of her "sayings":
Mashed potatoes and Gravy = KFC
Taste the Rainbow = Skittles
Shopping = Walmart

Just to name a few. Too cute.

I know... Little'uns are just the best namers in the world.
My son called them...
Lawn Lowers
Chopdecopters
And when we were too noisy he would tell us we were being too Loudsy..
Think I need me some more Grandbabies... my youngest is 11. My youngest child is getting married in August so maybe there is hope if I can live so long. Really don't want to be one of those aged grandmas but I guess that is better than not at all

Very adorable. Your a grandma....gosh, I have a few years to go (I Hope) before I am that....but it will be so fun.

I have to go jean-shopping tomorrow and I do not want to. Sigh. Stupid jeans, why do they have to get holes in them??

Oh, wait. It's because I insist on climbing trees and building useless structures and other activities that are hard on denim. I guess I deserve it.

Oh, my gosh.....now I am really eggcited. Only 8 days.

RFF: How long will your test eggs last? Oh my. I am eggcited.

How long can you hold any egg before putting it in a incubator? Okay, I need "Hatching Eggs in an Incubator for Idiots" book. Time to go read on the BYC forum how to do it correctly.
celebrate.gif
just so eggcited.

What you mean, last? You mean be good until the incubator gets here? Since the eggs aren't laid yet--it might be a while.

I don't save them up during the auction, at least not until the very end. I haven't gotten any eggs from those freeloaders for a few weeks now, other than the occasional one...but they are starting to build nests and almost everyone else is starting to lay well so I'm hoping they will join in, too!

LOL...the freeloaders....
gig.gif

Yes, this is what I meant. I figured you already had the eggs being gathered. I was going to go bid on your auction (convienent since you are so close) but I don't have the incubator yet.
