It kills me to witness, especially with the fact that nothing can be done about it. Its hard to watch her drink herself to death, as that is the road she is going down... LOL It wasnt a dog! And my drake didnt eat it, but he took down, and held down my husbands 130lb goat.

Well, anyway, returned from cowgirlgrace with 2 HUGE Split Coronation Sussex hens and a little rumpless Sussex pullet. The biggest hen of the group is broody, too! Cowgirlgrace, you never told me that.

Anyway, they're dwarfing my originally large Marans, and even make the perches rock when I put then up there. (the perches are tree trunks resting between studs in the coop walls)

Oh, and my ONE chick hatched!! Little fella is adorable, very fuzzy, and appears to be a Blue Partridge. I'm gonna pamper that one like there's no tomorrow.

Better yet, show her the site and she can get hooked too. Just sitting around waiting for the bones to heal can get very very boring.
But be expecting some depression from her a few weeks into the healing, and just give her some extra hugs. It is part of her body's way to deal with the healing. We sure did not expect it when it came with our MIL. And thank the malls for those supermarket NAS cars. It took the edge off the cabin fever.

No, they are not. Too much for dh to handle by himself. They will be around in the morning though as there is a 4-H Judging Contest going on during the show. So dh is taking them to the show to do that.
