That's what my Mom always said, but she must have been talking about my younger siblings because I was an angel. And my Dad used to say that teenagers were the reason some animals ate their young.

I have a saying for when my 17 turning 18yr old gets under my skin... "Gotta love her, Can't hate her!" I heard my 11yr old saying it in her room the other day cause her big sis had made her mad!

Someone told me that you get from your kids what you gave your parents. So I'll try real hard not to laugh the first time she comes to me irritated with my grandkids!

Among the many items that many are bringing to the show this weekend, does anyone have name labels on their list? I was thinking it might be helpful to have our BYC name along with our real name. I could bring some, but DD and I won't be there until 10ish and I know others will be there sooner. I can still bring some. I will also try to remember to bring a couple of our folding camp chairs. We might be short on chairs, correct? Crate to bring my pullets home, cash - anything else? So looking forward to meeting many of you in person!

Okay, gotta get to the store so I can cook up a big lunch again. Roof is getting put on the coop today, DH just picked up latches for the egg door and is requesting measurements for every door and window, so I'm going to have to start revising my drawing to figure it out and show them. Would have been so much easier if they'd used the plans - this is so much pressure! What if I get something wrong?

The hen house itself is approximately 3 1/2 tall, raised 2 1/2 feet off the ground. Nest boxes will be inside. Is there any reason the nest boxes can't be on the floor of the coop? I'm planning on two levels of roosts being on the wall opposite nest boxes, with poop board underneath. But I'm hoping there's enough room above the egg door for a good sized window, so that's why I'm thinking of nest boxes on the floor. Does this make sense?

I know y'all have probably seen this a million times but the kids(and I) are so excited we thought we'd put up another.

I told my DS this morning that the only consolation I have right now is that when he has kids he will realize just how hard and frustrating of a job it is. AND when he call me to complain, I will just laugh and tell him I've been there and to have fun with that!

On another note, I think my babies need to go to the bigger brooder soon!

I have mine on the floor because I don't really have any wall space to put them on, but my girls really only go in the coop to sleep or lay eggs. The rest of the time they are out in their huge run. So I would think it's ok.

We only have 4 dutch overs and 9 lodge skillets of different sizes and shapes, we are a long ways from having a full set.

Griswold's are the best and I have flat skillets, fryers, stew pots and dutch ovens.. I think I even have a full set still in box of dutch ovens... have not needed them in a long while.

I LOVE my Wagoner, Sidney Australia, smooth as a baby's butt and heats so well, love them!
I have Lodge too, and they seem coarser, more pourous and so stuff seems to stick more. Maybe just needs more use...
