I'm here now too if anyone else is.

Trying to decide on whether I want to put a deposit down on an LGD dog. The litter is due mid April so wouldn't get it until mid June. I also want some geese. I was thinking if the dog thing didn't fly with DH I could maybe convince him to get geese. Wish I could get both. Dang. That definately won't fly with him. Still waiting for the right time to spring the LGD idea on him. I really hoped the geese would be good for fending off coyotes but I guess not.

Jbear, Is there anything special I need to do with these Serama eggs? Everything the same as regular chicken eggs? I have 2 hatchers and will hatch them seperately but wondered if anything was different with humidity or incubation period etc.

Upcoming Mother Earth News fair........

http://www.motherearthnews.com/fair/home.aspx

I have been seeing it advertised in the last several issues, looks very interesting, although I bet most of us could teach the workshops, there may be quite a bit in there that we can learn about...
Tickets are on sale now $15....June 4th & 5th in Puyallup...centrally located betwix us all.....hmmmmmmmmmm I have the flyer in the latest issue...
Oh, and bought yet more garden seed, not many, 4 or 5..............

Have not heard from DH yet this morning, he is probably at the hospital now.
If I can get him to, go get a buckeye seed off the side of the road.
He will not go down a hill on cardboard, he did way too much of that when he grew up in Rollingwood in the Mountains overlooking San Bruno, by Crystal Springs Reservoir (by the Aqua temple)
OK, last hatch is over, babies all in the brooder & doing great...and now I have the next pip of games on Friday.
Then more Buckeyes (chickens this time

I am still trying to get a response from WFF about a shower/bird I saw there..guess e-mailing Kristina Korfus may be faster.

I am good at stealing more than just chickens from the neighbor. I have also managed to hit her wireless router.

I am technically offline for a while but as time allows I will try to sneak over and log on to check e-mail and PM's. If anybody needs to contact me either PM me or contact CL or Broody. They both have my # and permission to give it to ya.
I am really starting to have second thoughts about doing Stevenson and am wondering how I am going to pull it off. But I am going to give it my best shot and hope all works out OK.

Not centrally located for all of us. I have been looking at this show. There is only 3 Mother Earth News fairs this year and none are close to me.

I have been looking for some type of green/self sufficient/sustainable living show for a while. RV and Home shows just don't have what I am looking for.

I am planning to next year. I was only introduced to them 2 years ago when I went to a Mexican Restaurant, had enchiladas w/Tomatillo and cheese sauce. BEST SAUCE EVER!! Wow that stuff was amazing and delicious!

So yes, eventually, I'll get around to them, but right now I've gotta focus on getting all my current babies their new and permanent homes outside safely.

I hear they're basically like growing Tomatoes though. Which reminds me, I'm also very intent in trying Litchi Tomatoes next year too. I hear they taste like a cross between cherries and tomatoes, and are just wonderful. Gorgeous flowers too, very reminiscent to potato flowers.

You are more than welcome jbear. I had been looking for one on craigslist with no luck, and had priced them online but couldn't justify the cost. I knew I wanted something collapsible so I could store it in the garage when it wasn't needed and liked the idea of a little gate for convenience. So I was pretty stoked when I found them on close-out at Petsmart. And lucky for us they had one more left! It was meant to be. So yeah, now we just need some sun so we can put those pens to good use.

And yes, I'm getting excited for Stevenson. A little nervous about it now though. I got a call from a wonderfully talented costumer at the theater I've worked with before who asked if I'd be a costumed crew member for The Lion in Winter, meaning I'd have some walk ons and be changing sets between scenes, but they wanted me at rehearsals that weekend, so I said I'd do it if I could be excused the weekend of the show...

Will you have bantam fav hatching eggs at Stevenson? If so, I'd like to buy some from you!

I can bring some if you want, though I'm still running my first test hatches. I have good fertility, but haven't seen the chicks yet to know what kind of quality I am going to get. I do have one hen in that pen ( the only salmon, all the rest are blue salmon) that has DQ leg feathering, but I've left her in for now in hopes that the chicks will get daddy's leg feathering....let me know if you want some though.

I'm hatching from some other lines right now to replace that female and hopefully get a couple of really nice salmon males.
