Has JustBugged been slacking on her late-night posts? Seems I have been catching up in the mornings was quicker than usual.

I don't go to work until later today

Got to relax and have 2 boiled eggs for breakfast after the kids both went to school (nearly 2 hrs between their buses. Middle school bus comes waaaay too early, 6:45.

I cooked them until they cracked, and I prefer a soft-boil. Got to doing the dishes and it just took me too long. How long for the perfect soft egg? anyone have an easy way for poaching eggs?

I'm here now too if anyone else is.

Trying to decide on whether I want to put a deposit down on an LGD dog. The litter is due mid April so wouldn't get it until mid June. I also want some geese. I was thinking if the dog thing didn't fly with DH I could maybe convince him to get geese. Wish I could get both. Dang. That definately won't fly with him. Still waiting for the right time to spring the LGD idea on him. I really hoped the geese would be good for fending off coyotes but I guess not.

You could try a Llama or a Donkey I hear they both make great guardian animals.

I have a friend that has 2 miniture donkeys to keep coyotes away.

Wait a second, what was that you told me when I was whining about the drive to Monroe?? The real reason to go is to hang out with your cool BYC friends, remember?? LOL Even if you didn't bring a TON of stuff to sell, this show is going to be AMAZING even as a spectator!!!

Three minutes, tops, in slow boiling water.
I prefer my egg poacher, non stick & holds 4 egg cups which I coat with butter...then stick on the stove for a few minutes and as soon as the water boils, time it, and you can also cheat and pat the yolk to check for firmness, then the egg slide right out onto your toast.

HI CR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is sooooo quiet here w/o you!!

Illia: I think I may try tomatillos again this year and give it alittle more of my time, I love them!
Such tomatoey-limey flavor. Hard to describe but sooo delish!

YES JB has been missing also, AND Eenie...the two are in Cahoots and missing from action the last few days....just when I need a bunch of BYCers to talk to...hope she is OK & all is well with them two..

DH called a few minutes ago & said his Mom's temp is almost normal, they opened the surgical site & irrigated repeatedly to clean it out.
She has been on dialysis over night & this morning they let her wake up a little & asked if she had any pain and she said no...so they knocked her out again and took her to the OR to remove the implanted pacemaker.
DH said she has leg massage "pants" on, but her feet are black & blue from circulation issues & blood thinners to prevent clots.
She needs a massage therapist to come in after surg & help her circulation.
BUT she is recovering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enough to bring down the temp & has nice clean blood so easier on the kidney load...and well enough to undergo yet another surgery.

yes! Hopefully she can tolerate yet another surg and they get a massage therapist in to her to help her circulation...make her feel batter anyway.
Does anyone know anyone who has or may have Dark Cornish eggs/chicks for sale ?
I really do not want hatchery birds, but if all we are going to do is eat them, then what the hay ?

That's a big relief!!!

I had 8 tomatillos last year. Started them in the house and then put them outside in pots at first. If the weather was to get below 45* I covered them w/ plastic so by the time they went into the ground they had nice stout stems and grew like weeds. They ended up being 4ft wide and about 3ft tall. Had so many fruits, I probably could have gotten away with just 4 plants. I left some fruits on the ground to see if they will self seed but with this weather it may be July before they do! I think the name was Aunt Molly's from Territorial Seed Co.
