I've been to Shipwreck. i have a friend who lives in Lacey.

Hi Haller

I have a friend out in Oly-Lacey too (Boldogkennel) and I have seen the shipwreck bead place off I-5 (something snaps my head right around) and there is NO way I am going in there !
I will for sure 'catch' beadie-itis again...which is way more expensive and does not pay for itself near as well as 'hatchititus' does !

My ex-MiL owned "the Bead Box" in Campbell CA when I was in High School....she made beaded flowers & whole arrangements, and taught classes, and tons of beads.
I never caught "Beadie-itus" back then, I was too sick with "Horsey-itus". I was always riding~~
I did just climb up in the "attic" in this barn & get my box of beads down & dusted it off....now let's see what happens....

Someone once crossed a Collie w/ a Pyrenese, and I was thinking. . . Is he going to chase the chickens, then guard, then chase, then guard?

I have a pyranees X Australian shepard cross, and he is at best, a lazy type dog, medium-large and loves to "watch" he is into voyerism!
When we play, at 5 PM when work is done, he will run & chase a red laser & tug of war & other "games" for a big 15 minutes before collapsing, he is a big dog.
One morning early, 5 Guinea keets about 2 mo old escaped their pen, and Jack "herd" them in the front yard and kept them there, and just laid down & watched.
Herd dogs are very good at making a "presence" of themselves, so the livestock knows they are there, and stay put.
He has never chased anything other than a tennis ball, and he is not a very good tennis ball dog.
he sits & watches you throw the ball, and watches it sail through the air, bounce & roll away.
Then he goes back to sleep.
He will be 1 year old, middle of next month.
Zgoat has a pyranees too.
I think the BIG dog genetics "tone down" any "herding/chasing" hyperactivity the cross may introduce.
And the Aussie in him, tones down the giant breed size.
He is a cutey too.
I am glad we rescued him.
The giant livestock guardian breeds are slower moving, liking to lay or sit & watch livestock.
How is your Chow with livestock ?

Oh I love my Great Pyr, she is the best.. She sleeps most of the day unless something is going on than she's on it.. But she's up all night on guard.. And yes she barks Im just lucky everone around me doesnt call about her..

I am planning to next year. I was only introduced to them 2 years ago when I went to a Mexican Restaurant, had enchiladas w/Tomatillo and cheese sauce. BEST SAUCE EVER!! Wow that stuff was amazing and delicious!

So yes, eventually, I'll get around to them, but right now I've gotta focus on getting all my current babies their new and permanent homes outside safely.

I hear they're basically like growing Tomatoes though. Which reminds me, I'm also very intent in trying Litchi Tomatoes next year too. I hear they taste like a cross between cherries and tomatoes, and are just wonderful. Gorgeous flowers too, very reminiscent to potato flowers.

Warning you plant those in your garden and you will never be rid of them. They are a weed. even though i tried my best to weed the garden i had too many volunteers... and then our mexican workers planted more tomatillos (we let them have garden space).... cant win, we have so many growing and i cant sell them. no body knows what to do with the things.....

so just warning you they grow like weeds and produce a good seed bank in the soil and they grow in any dirt really well.

Hi everyone!!!

I am not going to try to catch up from over a week of being gone, so I thought I would pop in and say hi. I am still trying to get things back in order from being on vacay. Lots of Laundry! My babies got so BIG and so not cute anymore!

They are going through that mangy looking stage.

And thay are so ready to go out into the big brooder today! I hope everyone had a good week last week, and I did try really hard to bring back some sunshine, but alas, I couldn't fit it into my suit case, and they frown upon smuggling things back to the states.

I want to give a huge shout out to RonB! He took care of my big girls for me when the boy that said he would decided to move during the time we were out of town.(found out when I got back from the show Sat. and we were leaving Sun. morning

) He took such good care of them, that My Ameraucana decided to grace me with eggs again. He even found where I keep the poop board scraper, and the poop box and cleaned out under the roost for me. He is AWSOME!!!! Thank you Ron!

Well, going to go pick up the oldest DS's GF(they are on spring break) so they can hang today. We came back two days earlier than we had originally planned on, and I didn't tell work so I could hang with my boy and do all the house stuff, and I guess that includes picking up his GF.

Seems he doesn't want to hang with old mom as much anymore.

Have a great day all!

I could eat salsa verde every single meal so I will be a happy camper if they come back on their own. Since you blend them for salsa verde, I just wash and pop them in the freezer for later use. Yum. Summer can't get here fast enough!!!
