get a duckling and raise it for someone for 6 months.. then you should be slug free and someone gets a babysitter for a few months!
In fact Someone might pay you to sit a few ducks! I think snipes was looking for a sitter.. dunno if she found one yet.

no like duck poop...on a continual basis... I would like for them to come and visit, and then go home. I have 13 acres, thinkin one lil ducky might get a little tired trying to patrol the place lol

You have a lot of vegetables?
I read that you should build an outer parameter for the ducks to eat slugs as they cross over to the garden.
I might just do that this year as an experiment. I have 2 gardens and so far I have 3 adults

Bring on the slugs.
The bator is sitting half full now. Ducks still on strike. I think one is molting or something. Have enough babies anyways.
So my new bator can hold over 200 eggs?

Our little Bantam Cochin from RFF has started laying eggs; 3 eggs in 3 days! Cute little things. Olivia is hoping someone will go broody so we can hatch them, or maybe I need to look for incubator space. Or maybe I need to buy one ...... nooooo.

And don't forget next Saturday is Fuschia day at Fred Meyer. They used to be 50 cents apiece for 2" pots. Last year they were 5 for 3 dollah. And if you bring empty pots they will pot up to 5 or 6 pots with their potting soil for free if you show the receipt. If you go down a day or two in advance you can have a better choice of plants and they will still pot them up on Saturday. It's usually cold and the wait is a long line, but still free soil. Then, it's for sure better if you can hang them in a green house. They also have geraniums for the same price. I at least go down to get the cheap fushcias but don't brave the lines and cold. I love having my porch filled with fuschias and have one flower bed full of geraniums. Sure gonna have to pen up the free ranging ladies pretty soon. or no nice garden for me.

Yeah, but Fred Meyer's won't have the selection. Earth Farm has hundreds of varieties; some very unusual and hard to find. The chances of Fred Meyer's having something like 'Martin's Yellow Surprise' are slim to none. I admit it. I'm a bit of a horticultural snob. I like the rare and unusual.

I like fuchsias on my porch, too.

Based on what Reimaraa said about trying to make friends and in counseling group to help with that as well as homework to improve assertiveness,... I think a lonely man might have just gotten the wrong signals. I would talk to him, privately, and make clear to him that you have a boyfriend and aren't interested. That you don't mind seeing him in class but aren't able to hang out with him outside of class. Be assertive. Communicate clearly. If he tries to make you feel guilty, don't, stick to your guns. Say, "sorry, I am taken and I am not comfortable with the age difference anyway." So, basically, a firm, but polite, "Thanks but no thanks." Heck, I would even tell him, "All your attention is making me uncomfortable. I already have a boyfriend and would appreciate it if we kept our encounters on the professional level."

How about have mom or dad talk to him...so he knows that they know.

I think based on her age, and the fact she is in college, a quick talk after class would be a good first step. Bringing parents in to socially awkward situations in college might not be the most prudent idea. If, once told in no uncertain terms that she wants nothing more than professional interaction in class and is not interested in a relationship, he continues to ask her out or starts to stalk her, then the college and campus security needs to be notified.
