I did that too, only on my home computer, and I, and alot of others that I have received eggs from, have decided our eggs arrive in much better condition when we ship the box unmarked but for the addresses.
Our theory is that if the box is marked "Fragile" or "hatching Eggs" it invites cruel action from disgruntled shippers.
And so far, it has worked very well to ship the box unmarked.

He said it was angled too, not level...weird.

The tub plucker is what I am interested in also. The drill one just looks like more trouble than it's worth.

There is no waiting list for NPIP. We can get you certified whenever it fits your schedule.



The process of becoming an NPIP participant is very easy. Your birds need to be tested for Pullorum Typhoid and Avian Influenza (30 samples) once a year. The number of birds tested is dependent on how many birds you have. We can conduct the field test for you. However, we have to charge for the time it takes to conduct the test. Or you can draw the blood yourself and send it to the WSU Avian Health Lab. It costs between 1-2 dollars a sample, plus a 10 dollar administrative fee.



A WSDA veterinarian will also come to your farm and conduct a visual inspection. Next year, they will also inspect your records to ensure that you are purchasing NPIP birds. To be part of the program, if you buy more birds, they have to be from an NPIP source.



If you choose, you can also be in the AI Clean program. That consists of 30 birds being tested for AI every 90 days. Our veterinarians can come out and to that testing for free.



If you let me know how many birds you have, I can provide you with an estimate of how much this process will cost you.

Yay, happy customers! I have one customer that I don't even answer my phone for. She is such a whiner. I make her leave a message. What am I suposed to do, wave a magic wand to stop the rain? Besides, all my contracts state, 'weather permitting'. It will be very nice to get caught up. Been a while since I've smelled new mown grass. I am about a month late getting started.

Still not sure about Stevenson show. I'm not big on road trips.

When I ship eggs we put fragile glass on it and they seem to do fine. We put ours in styrofoam that my husband will drill out for each egg.

Im with Chickielady ont eh labels. I was int eh detached garage one day and the substitute mailman looks at eh box marked Fragile Chicken Hatching Eggs. He cocked his head sideways and shook the box a little and sailed it about 8 feet onto the porch. I hate the postal service here. My regular mailman is nice but the rest of them are terrible.

(I'm debating still, whether to scrub the inside of the donated coop down with bleach -- because it doesn't have good ventilation, the plywood is new and "raw", and I am afraid it would take a week or more for it to dry out even if we got steady sunny days for that long)

I'm thinking that several coats of paint would take care of any lingering organisms or virus contamination
