What, no bungie cords? My chicken tractor clear weather-proofing is mostly held on with bungie cords so I can change it with the wind. For the permanent run I'm going upscale with greenhouse-grade tarp material.

It's my patrimony: What was our milk barn, and now is dry storage and bottle-baby calf pen, was built about 44 years ago of used concrete forms held together with 40p spikes, the floor of raw-milled 6 X 10s framed on recycled telephone poles and the roof on unpeeled fir poles. It's still standing fine, even though a claustrophobic yearling bull once pushed his way out the corner and it had to be pulled back together with a comealong.

those are so cute!! who hatched out of what? colors breeds? and I dont know about the fused toes. maybe Cindy can chime in.

Thanks! the hatch was kinda crazy and they were all in the same hatcher so I'm still a bit confused as to who is who. Time will tell.

Still trying to devise a way to divide the hatcher into sections so I can keep them sorted.
pic 1-was either a lav or b/s AM
pic 2-from the L to R- OE, the lav or b/s AM, OE, and a Wheaten AM
pic 3- OE or ORP?
pic 4- Orp
There are lots more Orps but I was having trouble getting pics of them. So stinkin' cute!!!

DH said that it was eerie watching the 70 meter concrete pump dance around during the 7.0 quake. I am hoping to talk to him soon.

He is okay?

As far as I can tell his is fine. He sent me pictures of him with the Antnov and 70 meter pump in the back ground. He is going to be driving it from the airport, to the shop. I am not sure how far it is, but the pump is very oversize, and there will be a military escort.
At this point he is at least 150 miles from the reactor site, and there are no plans for the Americans to get any closer. The guys do have radioactive detection badges on, but I really don't know if it will make any difference in the end. I will have to down load some of the pictures and post them.

I forgot to add how grateful I am for your concern for my family.

all again.

If anyone has any questions for me, please PM me, it's been so busy around here lately that I rarely check this thread.

Well, we sold our two goat does and just have a pet buck now. Our Yak is due to go just after the swap in Oregon. As for new arrivals, we have 6 Black Copper Marans chicks that hatched out, 1 Shamo, and 1 Easter Egger. Another batch is due to hatch in just under a week. Should be exciting - Polish, Olive Eggers, BCM's, and Easter Eggers.

:ya:

I am going to have to pick up some fire bricks and some cement blocks, so that we can light a fire under the big pot, to dip the carcass in. I think I still have a safe spot to do it here. But my place isn't very big. It still makes me very happy to treat the place like the farm I want it to be.
