That's better than me. I want just about everything you can think of with any combination of spangles, crests, beards, or pretty eggs. The fact that I am in the city, and Mr. Hallerlake disliking to do construction, are about the only things preventing a major population explosion. I'm going to try to settle for a quad of spitz and a quad of Brabanters, and maybe some day, when the original girls are gone, a quad of Orloffs or speckled sussex. I guess that's the difference between OCD and ADHD.

Well, when you and Rainwolf enabled me to get exactly what I wanted the first time I got chickens, I'm not likely to settle for second-best the second time. I'm looking at SH's as a second breeding group, in the long run. I got my greenhouse cover Thursday, and am going to recover the old greenhouse and set it up for a sheep pen, chicken pen, and potting shed for next winter. I still need a couple more appropriate LF hens to put with Ian and Sylvia when the coop is finished (progress is being made on that, for some values of progress, if the light is right and you sort of squint with one eye) but I'm awaiting providence on making that decision, and may even end up with Cochins or something with a habit of going broody.

I mean, look, I wanted a goat, looked for goats for months, and then my old buddy posted photos of her Jacob lambs on the same day I tried and failed to find somebody to cut the lawn and I'm getting a sheep instead. (Sing it, Mick: You can't always get what you want...)

(PS: Don't tell him I said it, but I could see Mr. Haller suddenly taken with the couture gorgeosity and arte nouveau lapidary design of pheasants some day and making your chicken thing look reasonable).

Hit Control (ctrl) and F5 at the same time and it will search for the new image instead of taking it from your cache.

Is there a Silver Spangled Hamburg thread? Go there see what you can find out there. I could hatch eggs and brood chicks for you in a month or so.

This may yet be a plan; I had nightmares last night about handling fertile eggs and breaking them all when my hands went wonky, after a day that every time I tried to put a screw-on top on a jar or bottle I ended up spinning it across the kitchen, or in one case, a bleach-bottle top out the laundry room door and down the back steps. There's an incubator up the hill, but the chance of anyone from that house doing me a favor is vanishingly small.

Yeah he deffinately has some attitude to him! I should take some more recent pics of him, as I need to do a trade at some point for another cockeral. I still havnt been able to put the one BW pullet back with the group... Every time I try they pick her bloody again. Ive tried 3 times so far, and each time they pick at her vent. I really dont want her in my layer flock, as she is just so pretty, but she is on the smaller size and has hardly any Wheaton to her, so maby she shouldnt go into the breeding coop.
