Ugg... Im SO sick of this weather! Im so close to having that coop finished, and if it wasnt for easter, it would have gotten finished on saturday.

I better go out and feed the horses early, I dont wanna be out in this weather anymore.

The Wheaton Ameraucanas are out in a small pen with a large rubber made tub on its side, for shelter. I did however get smart this morning, and created a make shift lean-to off the tub. So they have a place out of the rain, and no rain can get in because of the lid thats zip-tied at an angle.

Raising critters and running a farm is exhausting, guess having a bad alergy flare up doesnt help matters any iether.

Why is it that whenever I go on CL there is never anything good?

And your DH is close - it's the Kookabura that sits in the old gum tree, laughing at the monkeys he can see. Although a Cuckoo Marans may do the same if given an opportunity.

"Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree, merry merry king of the bush is he, Laugh! Kookaburra,
Laugh! Kookaburra, gay old king is he."
I never hear the monkey one, and as far as I know, that is one weird animal Australia does not have.

We sang it many years ago when I was a 6th grader at St. Aloysius in Spokane. My memory may not be as accurate as I'd like, but there are definitely lyrics about a monkey. We must have been studying Australia at the time because we also used to sing Waltzing Matilda. Perhaps a song choice Tyson can croon for his newest little groupie?

From my days at day camp when I was in San Francisco. The line would be sung by one side of the campfire and repeated by the other side. I'm sure these lyrics aren't accurate either but I remember them as:

But maybe good outside pens for call ducks when attached to a small 'coop' for them to shelter in...possibilities...

Yeah, looks way too interesting for my taste, to be sure.

I got my "allowance" in the bank, groceries bought, and my prescription picked up, fed the chickens and made two bull calls- oh and washed a load of my shirts- but otherwise got nothing done today. I'm going to end up having to set cinderblocks all by my lonesome whenever the rain stops, and them whining about how much my hands hurt. This makes me displeased.

There are no monkeys in Australia.
A kookaburra is a bird related to the kingfisher, who also has a call that sounds like someone laughing.
A gum tree is Eucalyptus.
We sang all the songs too-
Tie me kANGAROO DOWN. SPORT, tie me kangaroo down...
And Waltzing Matilda (I think that maybe an old USA song?)
The Flea Stuff song has always baffled me since chicldhood though..and did you ever do the bamboo dances when in Scouts ?
A girl on each end, sitting and each has 2 LONG sticks of bamboo, and then you get a few girls to jump in & dance while the bamboo is clicked together and then apart, then back together and so on..you had to dance well or get an ankle bone hit by the bamboo.
Alot like jumping rope....

Other people with rhythm and the ability to tell left from right did the bamboo thing; I was a meance to myself and others and was allowed to sing the songs without doing the dance.
