and to keep this sort of back on topic:

quoting:

we sing this at school.
One mother hen sat on 4 little eggs, Keeping them warm in her little egg nest, Then one day she heard a crack And a little voice said, as the egg was hatched;

“I’m… a…spring chicken! I’m yellow and small. My feathers are fluffy and they’re keeping me warm. My legs are not long, so I’ll never be tall,
But I’m a real spring chicken and I’m having a ball! (Chicken I’m a chicken, I’m a havin’ a ball!)”

One mother hen sat on 3 little eggs, Keeping them warm in her little egg nest. Then one day she fell asleep And a little voice said in a whispered tweet:

“I’m… a…spring chicken! I’m yellow and small. My feathers are fluffy and they’re keeping me warm. My legs are not long, so I’ll never be tall,
But I’m a real spring chicken and I’m having a ball! (Chicken I’m a chicken, I’m a havin’ a ball!)”

One mother hen sat on 2 little eggs, Keeping them warm in her little egg nest. Then one day she moved about And a little voice said, as a chick popped out:

“I’m… a…spring chicken! I’m yellow and small. My feathers are fluffy and they’re keeping me warm. My legs are not long, so I’ll never be tall,
But I’m a real spring chicken and I’m having a ball! (Chicken I’m a chicken, I’m a havin’ a ball!)”

One mother hen sat on 1 little egg, Keeping it warm in her little egg nest. Then one day she gave a sigh And a little voice said “SURPRISE! SURPRISE!!”

From my days at day camp when I was in San Francisco. The line would be sung by one side of the campfire and repeated by the other side. I'm sure these lyrics aren't accurate either but I remember them as:
Koomala, Koomala, Koomala, flea stuff!
No no no no not the flea stuff
eenie meenie desameenie oowa oowanna meenie
beep belly ope ope doowa doowanna meenie! Shhhhh....

Hope all works out with your CA house...

YES!!! That is it!!!!

Now what the heck does it mean ?
Beep billy ope ope opa a beaten botin shhhhhhhhhhh.........maybe another language ?

That's right - that's the last line! I have no idea what it means. It just sounded super cool when I was 8 years old and we were shouting it back and forth over the campfire which is probably why it stuck with me.

There are no monkeys in Australia.
A kookaburra is a bird related to the kingfisher, who also has a call that sounds like someone laughing.
A gum tree is Eucalyptus.
We sang all the songs too-
Tie me kANGAROO DOWN. SPORT, tie me kangaroo down...
And Waltzing Matilda (I think that maybe an old USA song?)
The Flea Stuff song has always baffled me since chicldhood though..and did you ever do the bamboo dances when in Scouts ?
A girl on each end, sitting and each has 2 LONG sticks of bamboo, and then you get a few girls to jump in & dance while the bamboo is clicked together and then apart, then back together and so on..you had to dance well or get an ankle bone hit by the bamboo.
Alot like jumping rope....

Other people with rhythm and the ability to tell left from right did the bamboo thing; I was a meance to myself and others and was allowed to sing the songs without doing the dance.

I had co-ordination back then............

where the heck is everyone ?
No one last night, and just we 3 all day despite the nasty weather you would think someone would be stuck indoors and chat a wee bit..gad, I have been down under too much today.
If you have time, log onto WA poultry trader, creat an account & post. be advised, most of them are asleep when we are awake, and vice versa, a good hobby for our night shift which seems to have disapeared in their cyclic behaviour pattern yet again....later guys....
