AMEN!!!!!
This very clinic I have had to go toe-to-toe and force them to do a CBC blood work on me. I had done a bit of my own research...I just wanted them to follow through on my concerns. No, instead I was told I was not old enough to be menopausal...she gave me 3 prescriptions. 1 - a sleeping aid 2- antidepressant 3 - something to increase my libido. I didn't fill any of them. Went to a physician in Chelan who was recommended to me to specializes ONLY in Women's Health Care. Wonderful woman. Does not treat her patient's like cows and numbers...herd through the room and see as many as she can for the all mighty $$$$$$$. Did the correct tests, listened to me. Confirmed my suscipsions (sp?). Now I am on a cream that helps me to stay 95% sane for the most part...no more hot flashes and no more night sweats.

Quacks up here. They make me so angry.

A big X2, it's your body and baby!!!

Oh, but seriously. I so look back on the days of biology midterms/finals with nostalgia.

I am glad I am not the only who who crams as many in as they can...I was afraid to do too much blocking as it might block air flow or something. But if you have done it and it works....then I am not going to worry so much about it.

Speaking of our Brinseas, I have a confession to make. I wasn't going to tell on myself but... I had today off and it was raining so hard and I was thinking I might be too busy tomorrow to candle, but in truth these are all excuses. I just couldn't wait! Sooo, using my little 104 lumens Lowe's flashlight I took a peek. I actually saw veining, and on at least one of the eggs saw a little embryo swimming. Holy cow that was exciting! On 5 out of the 6 salmon Faverolles there is definite life.

I also have 12 BCMs and of course, (dumb newbie for using those on my first time) I couldn't see a thing, so those are inconclusive. BUT, and here's my big surprise, I have at least 3 fertile eggs from our own LS Whitey Ford who I got from Cowgirlgrace! She had told me that Whitey had been with someone the day I picked her up, so just for fun I set the first 4 eggs we got from her. I pm'd CGG earlier this evening to find out who the possible chicky daddy might be and she said there's a possibility it was a black Orpington. I am SO hoping those hatch so we can find out what a light Sussex/black Orpington cross might look like. Those could be some BIG babies!
Now I just have to sit on my hands so I leave the eggs alone until the 2 week mark and hope I get a better look at what's going on with them. I'm very hesitant to toss any away since my novice eye may miss indication of viability. Just hope nothing explodes on me.
This is SO much fun. I think I'm going to want to do it again.

..... I am already trying to make sure I cannot remember these days of torment. Because I was so sick last semester during finals and midterms I don't remember those weeks at all...

Had eaten out with a friend (who my boyfriend doesn't like because its complicated that way) and since he was driving I had a Tequila Sunrise. I love this restaurant. They give you a tall, real sunrise, glass for $2.50.
I actually almost cleaned my plate. I always eat better with company than alone.
The only drawback from TS is that I get a sugar high from the orange juice.... then I come back down and am relaxed and sleepy.

Also with the tylenol I have been having to take lately because of my wisdom teeth coming in I figured I should have a more productive way to damage my kidneys (I stay away from NSAID or ibuprofen) but tylenol is cleaned from your body by the kidneys where other pain killer ruins your liver and stomach lining.

I will have to continue my battle with biology tomorrow morning. I don't need to be stressed.

hmm.. I have some Costco cookies left and a gallon of milk. Me think its time for Cookies and Milk in cozy flannel jammies.

I think everyone has done an oopsie they learned from! best to share that knowledge right? lol
I use oxyclean on my white cochins feetsies, but only on the feather tips (and sometimes on the feather tips on their chest too) but try not to get it on their skin. It IS very drying, my own skin dries out with it. They free range and are always really really dirty, that along with a little dawn on that area seems to whiten them up.

YIKES on that leak! Your husbands job is not in danger is it?

omygoodiness, you wanna know MY secret dumb blonde oopsie??? If ya'll promise not to

me--it was really really dumb. I was putting in the goat fence, dug a big ol' hole for the gate post, pounded T-bars etc etc.. forgetting all the while that we have FREEKIN HUGE GAS LINES RUNNING THROUGH OUR PROPERTY... the gate post missed (if it actually isn't right above it) the main line into the house by INCHES. When I thought to Self, before adding more fence posts, I should call 1-800 where's the gas lines... they marked up the yard all pretty.. and i fainted when I saw how close the gate post was to the gas line mark. duh. My angel kept me from blowing myself up I think.......

there is a picture of it somewhere on my blog--how close it is..

edited to add my own

http://bearfoothollow.blogspot.com/2010/04/some-spring-stuff-going-on-around.html in the first picture... sheesh.

What I learned is no white chickens. Oops. My spitzhaubens will be white.

I had a white shorthorn bull who was a 1400 pound senior yearling: white chickens are easy.

Especially if you stay away from exhibiting.

Birthday Dinner with our two and the birthday girl's boy at the Cascadia in Downtown Oly: great food, although as always a weird place to go, since I knew it best when it was run by a woman who payed the musicians before the Department of Revenue and often forgot to pay the waitresses at all.

Be patient with those BCM's. The very 1st eggs I hatched were Cukcoo Marans which are not quite as dark but still very dark. It was so hard to see in that I didn't have much hope that they were doing anything. But I ended up with 7 out of 9. One was a late quitter and the other pipped low and died. I should have helped it but I learned a ton.
How eggciting for ya!!!

so i have finally unloaded the hundreds of photos i took of my chickens last weekend and am working on cross breed ID.
Illa this is your department. I think, after looking at these photos for a while and seeing my roosters I know what the crosses are. I will post the pictures and after you guys guess for a while i will compare with what i think they are.

BTW is this breed supposed to be double breasted?
