I just got back....

She's FINE!!

We saw an MD first, who did the u/s. She felt very sorry for us having to go through what we did...she said they used to worry more about the EIF's than they do now. She said now, they are pretty common and meaningless.

The baby's head measured fine. No holes, lumps or fluid.

The EIF on the left ventricle is still there but again, not a big deal.

During the u/s the baby was kicking/squirming around, A LOT.

The doctor said that because I'm "thin" (which made me feel good, too, LOL) that the baby is only about 1 inch away from the u/s wand. So the baby was reacting to the wand & the vibrations from the machine.

The doctor measured the baby from top to bottom--took LOTS of pictures. There were two monitors--one for the doctor and one for DH & I. The doctor used the words, "beautiful" a lot when describing the kidneys, spine, face, etc.

The baby is almost exactly on target for her age--and actually, measuring a little AHEAD. She is estimated to be 1lb, 9oz. Which is like 5 days ahead of her gestational age.

Then the perinatologist came in.

He said what we have is a healthy, normal baby! He does not see any need for further follow up, amino, more testing, etc. He said she looks great. He asked me how much/often she moves. I told him quite frequently. He said that's a great sign. He said Trisomy 18, 13 and 21 babies don't move as much because they are sick/weak. He made us feel so much better!

Anyway, here are all of the pics I got!

Thank you so much! Yeah...DH & I almost collapsed on the floor and both had HUGE sighs of relief, tears and kept thanking the doctors. The atmosphere in the peri office is horrible. Lots of worried-looking parents, some crying...it didn't help that we got there an hour early and for our 2pm appointment which we were 25 minutes late getting into.

Thank you so much! We went out to a nice dinner afterwards (I ate way too much) and then we went to Babies R Us and I started my registry.....and I had to buy a few things.

I'm so happy for you! Now go and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. You did enough worrying for the next 4 kids. You still need some left for when she hits her tweens and beyond!
