Try King County Senior Services, they may have walkers to distribute in cases like these, and if not they may well have an idea of where to get one free or cheap; I know both St. Vinnie's and the Adventist Community Services have stuff like that down here, but it's very much a county (or sometimes city- Seattle may have a separate office of Senior Services) level thing. If she has her Medicare through Group Health, her walker may be insured (the one my husband got last fall is) so that's another place to ask; it's probably covered by her homeowners or renters insurance, if she's got that. Also, of you have a community news blogger talking to them and getting the story out may get the walker to come home: shame works, sometimes.

I got some better pics of the mystery chick today. The other pics were really washed out. So, do these new pics give anyone a new or different opinion? I didn't really see any splashes per se but I don't know if I really know what I'm looking for.

(black head and neck, black and green tailfeathers, mottled/laced white wings with black, greenish legs, pea comb)
think of what a splash looks like, then REVERSE the colors

no bad habits that I can see -- he has been "one of the girls" all along, but today his dog-squeaky-toy chirp turned into a CROW

I don't think my neighbors will put up with that --- I'd rather get rid of one roo than be forced to get rid of ALL the chicks

Rainwolf I am sorry to hear about the theft of Alice's Walker. But in answer to the question who would..... It is the people out there who don't see or care what things mean to others. All they see is that they could sell what ever item to get thier daily fix.
There are groups out there that may help. One that comes to mind is KOMO 4 PROBLEM SOLVERS. I am sure there are others, this is just one I know about.
Sorry the only thing I have to offer is one of the basic 4 leg U shaped walkers.
