So I was working away today, painting my new cages DH built me. That dried and I started putting the wires on the cage doors. I was a STOOPID girl and had stapled the hardware cloth to the top of the door, let the roll drop, and was using the wire cutters along the bottom of the door, trimming away. Hit the last wire, and BOING!!! The wire piece I just cut off that was stapled only at the top of the door bounced up and gouged me good in the forehead. I was sooooooooooooo lucky it didn't hit my eyes! I have four good pokes across the center of my forehead where the wire got me good. Good thing I just had my tetnus booster last year!!!

I've got lots of lavender pics on some of my BYC pages...the bantam cochin page shows a lavender roo, the Lav/self-blue Orp page shows Orps and the Lav/Self-Blue Ameraucana page show them.

Actually, it's kind of funny. Before I was the crazy chicken lady, I was a crazy Ebay lady and my ebay name was Lavender-Haze. Now that I'm a crazy chicken lady, most of my birds are Lavender or BBS!!! Weird how things like that happen.

CL, how goes the foundation bids? When do you pour!!??!?? You know you will have to be hosting a barn raising / house warming Par-tay when the time is right!!!

Your Am's are so pretty! I've put them in now with all my other teenagers and I have two black Olive Eggers I've hatched out. You are sooooooooooo right! They are very hard to tell apart! I banded your girls as soon as I got them home so that there's no mistaking them.

BTW, anyone want a cuckoo Olive Egger rooster? He's about 2 months old and very cute! If you use cuckoo over BBS or Lavender to create olive eggers, the males will be identifyable at hatch with a white dot on their head. PM me if anyone wants one! I have the 2 month old and am hatching out a bunch more in next few weeks.

I have 7 ORP cockerals. they were sposed to be blue but apparently the black rooster snuck around with the hen and I ended up with black babies... if you still wanted a rooster your more than welcome to get one. 5 weeks old and feathered now. gotta go I am going out of town and DH forgets to check on them. I will put them on CL tonight.
