Sounds alot like my family! Drive on over here! Ill put you up for the weekend, and you can spend Mothers day with me at the horse show! Oh I forgot to tell everyone! lol My DD Chloe has her first show on mothersday! Im excited, even if it is just a lead line class. lol Come on 4312, I bet you' have a blast with me!

Sounds like my family. My wife and I looked at eachother one day and just decided we were through with the fighting and bickering with my family. We no longer go to holiday functions. We show up and visit, and leave a few hours later...tell all we love them and return to our "castle" where there is peace.

This is exactly what I do with most of my DH's family. Its just better to stop in and visit a little bit, then leave before the dramma starts. lol Goes the same with my brother and SIL... We dont exactly get along anymore, and havnt talked in almost a year because of SIL... The rest of my family is prety close. Moms about 100 feet away, sis is over everyday, my not so little, little brother lives above my garage in the loft. Its a nice way to live, but not to much privacy with Mom so close. lol

I love the feeling of peace that my DH and I get when we leave a family function! lol Makes me giggle every time, that is IF Im not ripping my hair out. lol

OH! And

Ive never had a problem with any of our Marans Roosters they are just great guys..
Now Im wondering about the Light Sussexs guys have a 9 chicks and two of them are not bery nice. The rest of the chicks are nice. Im thinking of not having this line, and just going with the Cornation Sussex. Husband told me last night STOP with the chickens, so now I have to make a choice. I do know FBCM and English Orp and Buff silkies stay! But Really want the Cornations to stay and the Wheaten Marans and the Blue Copper Marans too

Maybe if I just keep 3 hens and one roo he will let me keep more kinds...

Oh no, I don't know if I could make those choices. Don't you still have Ameraucanas too? Yes, I would definitely try for the 3 hens/roo combo and see if that is a workable compromise.

Oh yes I do have 4 Blue Ameraucans too

The only parental advice I've got is don't get into conflict with your child, ever: know what you need to happen, and hew to it. This doesn't mean you need to always win, nor always impose your will on your child, but rather that you need to step back, look at the situation objectively, and go with who has the more essential case. Which means feeding and changing tiny babies before they start to scream whenever possible (with the proviso that some kids just scream at the slightest impulse, not your fault, don't feel guilty, it doesn't help) so they don't learn to scream and also, importantly, knowing when you need to have someone to take care of the baby while you take care of you.

My home ownership advice is don't take on more than you can handle easily, whether it's your mortgage or the amount of yard you have to mow or the commute to your job/your husband's job. And for the sake of all that's holy, have the roof and plumbing and foundation and floors thoroughly inspected and look for any encumbrances on the deed before any money is exchanged.

Nope but yesterday he did tell me well if you just need a roo I have plenty but could ya wait a couple weeks they are still under the lights. Sure that works great for me since I have a place to put him but am not really ready with the RIRB set up. So we can do a pullet dance ...

You do not want to see this old, uncoordinated girl do any kind of a dance!

I'm going to be 59 soon: let us stop with the "old" thing, eh?

(We can be uncoordinated together, however).
