Thanks, Cheri. I'll give them a couple more days, at least.
Five more hours and still nothing.

My DD and I are getting deeper and deeper into the chicken addiction. This is the most wonderful sight for information. Even if you do not get on all the time. . This is a very chatty group from everything from kids to chicks and dogs to does. And of course some of the smartest chicken people you will ever meet. I have (in less than 6 months) learned so much that has been very helpful. Join in at any time. There is also an Eastern WA group you may want to look into.

I agree with SadieSue....this is so amazing it makes my head hurt. How do you know this? Is there somewhere on the internet to tell us these things? How do I know if I cross X with Y and the color is Z, Z is a female....etc. http://bestsmileys.com/clueless/4.gif

I don't think it will work with the Sussex. Not sure what that genetic make up is! To be honest, I was reading the Olive Egger thread and some folks started talking about how you could get sex-links using the cuckoo/barred in the hen. I think for it to work, the roo needs to be black or a dilute of black like the lavender roo I have. But there is a whole thread on how to make sex links, if you want to read up on it here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=261208

Oh
, and we went shopping this afternoon, and came home, and one of the Olive Eggers I thought was a girl, now has a clear as can be spot on her head. So now I have another male.

Her down on her head was kind of matted when I put her in the brooder this morning, and now she's all fluffed and a he!

what an incredible sight/information. It just makes my head hurt. I printed it off. I hope to read it more thoroughly later.

EE crosses....

X2

at least the first four seem to have green or greenish legs, and pea combs ... which generally means EE (easter egger);
those combs are fairly small and only faintly pink, which makes me think: pullet

EE roos generally have a three-row type pea comb

you have some very interesting and attractive colors to yours

I think this other might be a Sagitta .. which is a fairly new cross ... do a search on BYC to get more info on it
