Remember a year and a half ago I was living in Northern CA and it was 113 degrees on May 1st.............http://bestsmileys.com/sun/1.gif
I moved there from North Idaho, in 200, to take car of my 94 year old Grandmother, what a shock!!!!!!!!
About killed me year after year,
finally after searching on line for years for a piece of land, I found this place, and boogied, rabbits & chickens in the van and I am outta here!!
I wanna go home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I am here.

RIGHT ON!! Every place has a few issues, some more than others! Glad you came back home and I know I'm glad your here!!! Sounds like a nice place!!!

OK, where is everyone ?
Guess I will fade away myself...
Before I go, a story about today.
I put the 7 wine bottle ducklings out in the vacant Guinea pen, which has 1" hard dog crate fence all around, nothing short of a moose could plow through it.
It's heavy & chromed, and not unlike a bar be que grill.........
and so in there they were.
Heat lamp in the coop..all is well all night and this morning I peeked in, all 7 having fun in the run, bathing and eating.
Then later this afternoon I peeked in, and there was only 4................THREE MISSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I looked, and sure enough they had found a small hole in the back which faces the green house, and in the green house they were, but under one of the BIG 10 foot long planter boxes...ARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!
I had to get on hands & knees & chase them back through the 2x4 wire into their pen....it went on for hours....finally we got them all together, and plugged the holes, and I am both exhausted & filthy for laying on the ground trying to dig a deep enough tunnel for my arm to reach through to grab the little pea pickers.
ARRRRRGHHH!!!!

Well my peeps last update for the night I didn't get a nap after last night and then running this am, so I'm bushed!! I believe if my calculation are correct and from what little I can see in my crowded bator I have 3 eggs left, all have pipped! the last hatch was I think a sticky chick? it took him forever to come out and then the shell stuck to him, his friends were trying to help him but, they didn't have any luck, so I remembered the post that RW said just take some warm water and spray it in the bator, so I quickly sprayed and came back 20 min later and the shell was off! The chick had, had it stuck and he was rolling around with it on his back for about an hour before I did that, I tried really hard to let nature take it's course, but, sometimes ya gotta have a little help from your friends right!! Just like you guys!!

OK i need some help here. Today For some unknown reason my OEGB roo 2 OEGB hens and Sicilian hen decided it was time to bully the Silkie hen. By the time I got in there all but the roo had left. She was laying on the ground with the roo standing over. Well it seems Roody failed Boot camp and the next camp may be freezer. So I got the silkie and put her in the barn for now. I really think they would have killed her. So WHY would they do this ????

BTW Michelle got to come home today !!!

We just got back from walking over there. She is tired but doing good. I also got the little part time gig. only 10 hours a week but hey it is right across the road. Did I mention that it is Michelles sister hiring me to help take care of Michelles farm while she is down.

Maybe she decided to bully, and the "gang" ganged up against her.
Maybe she wanted a certain nest box that THEY wanted and since she is a loner, they objected, and THEY is bigger than the one silkie.
Sometimes being different is all it takes.

And I will TRY to get some sleep if DH does not snore TOO loud tonight

Our friend is the BEST!!!! He leveled the ground scraping away all the blackberries, set the block and leveled the beams, and then helped us set the crates!!! I would have never imagined that he could have gotten so much done in one day!
So, insulating, siding, triming, painting and fencing need to be finished and the girls will be... Movin' on up... to the east side...to a deluxe apartment in the sky! Except it's west and more in the trees than in the sky!
lol.png

Such a tremendous blessing to have so much done so quickly!!!! Thanks Ray!!!
