Must be the night for posting photos. Ian stares at the Hamburg pen, or at least towards the Hamburg pen:

Got a couple hours of work in the yard today between rain drops, so that's better than yesterday, woo hoo..., but sheeeeesh I'm ready for some consistent weather so I can roll out the tools and not have to run for cover every couple minutes...
On the upside, we get the most incredible rainbows here: Frequently doubles and the occasional triple...just stunning....

Blue Laced Red Wyandottes; the rooster Ian is Splash and the hen, Sylvia, is proper BLRW. I also have Hamburgs:

Totally depressed. Walked into the kitchen this afternoon and 9/13 chicks were stone dead, another dying. They were eating fine this morning, all the other birds fine. I couldn't imagine what I'd done. Finally, my mother confessed she'd sprayed Raid in the kitchen trying to kill a fly. 2 chicks were irreplaceable- from shipped eggs. The others were all very good- Polish, serama, and silkies. Poor little babies.
