Did you hear about chiculars that prowl around the Olympic Penninsular? They strike only on rainy moon lit nights...Word is they have built a nest the height of the empire state buildin, deep in the middle of the Hoh Rain Forest. Their preferred nesting material is crunchy paper because it helps drown out any noise...acting like a sound barrier.

DH found, and hung, my acyteline (sp?) bell he made me years ago, despite my wanting CR to do a cut out on it....and it gongs every so often..but is sooooooo subdued.
Deep, but quiet.
I think it needs cut outs to let the noise get out!
CR:::::::::: have you found that cur outs let more noise OUT?
I am eggs-zausted...and the crew that fitted the forms was my contracter & his wife.

That woman (she is in her early 30s)
gets right in there & bent rebar & tied wire (no gloves) and had mud up to her kazoo...what a great team they are!
They are at the Jr High now with their kid's baseball workouts or some such activities.......I love real American families that work side-by-each and do whatever they can to enrich their family, their kids, their community & country.

It looks so little, huh?
But waite til you surf the Barn Plans.com website & see how big this barn will be.
And still not huge (like Ogress's mountain fortress)
We want cozy, efficient, and easy to clean & heat for the two of us.
Even still, the barn loft is the best loft in history, and has a huge vaulted ceiling and double the sq footage as it is a 1 story building...due to the fact that it has no upper walls...the foundation is double-kick butt and 24" tall crawl space...will be heavily plastci moisture proofed & drain pipes all around.
The south side of the barn (facing away from you in the pics) will have a full atrium, for growing vegies & herbs.
The front faces due North & will have a shed roof porch on big logs, which I will sweet talk CR into building metal braces for (we have the trees)'
