The sun is out!

It's about time! So before it disappears, I have to go out & clean the horse trailer, the brooders and some of the pens!

Oh I got one chick to hatch (so far)....it's a mutt. The lady I bought my wyandotte hen from said it's daddy is probably a black (Large Fowl) Ameracauna, which it does look like...little muff, greenish legs. But SINGLE comb? This means the hen's comb is recessive.

If anyone wants this chick, let me know...

The Mom was delighted with the girl because her older two kids were boys. She was a beautiful little baby with lots of dark hair. They let the older brother who was maybe 5 or 6 hold the little girl over a tile floor and he dropped her on her head. The Auburn hospital ER sent her home and said she was fine. She died at home a couple days later. Obviously, she wasn't fine. Ambulances zooming into the neighborhood are never a good thing. Such a tragedy.

That poor little boy that dropped her will have to live with that his whole life too. Hope they get him counseling but how could you ever forget something like that. Heartbreaking.

I'm marinating some steaks for the BBQ that DH & I are having tonight.

I am waiting for it to warm up a little bit, first before I go outside. Even though it's sunny...it's only about 50 degrees out.

Probably? They do goats, too.

It is the killing part that is hard on me...if show how to do correctly I could (maybe) eventually do, but once dead....I can get my hands right in there and do. Just need to be shown.

Oh....and I don't have any goats.
