OK I am just going to throw this out if anybody is interested. There may be some hives here for $150. I was told they would bottom board, 2 deeps with frames and foundation, inner cover and telescoping top. Not positive but I think she said with bees.

Never again will I build runs that have a top less than 6'. I spent about 1/2 hr weed eating the bantam runs yesterday. They are only 3-4' high so you know how that went bent over with weed eater for 1/2 hr. Well today my back is telling me about it. See I have a partial dissability due to my back being fused.

Thank you CR....have you heard on your job? I am going to hate informing the Vet clinic that I am quitting....they have been so good to me, but they had encouraged me to keep my real estate license in case the economy got better and I wanted to go back to it. I know they will understand and will be happy at the opportunities that this job has for me...still hate leaving it. OH, btw, hanging up the real estate license.

Nope haven't heard. They said they should know by friday and since I didn't get a call am guessing that I didn't get it. Why ya letting the real estate lic go? I would think it a good thing to keep unless it is too expensive. I have kept all of my licenses / certs. mostly so I don't have to pay $$$ to retest. See with the weld test it is a matter of pay $125 (for each process) weld a gap closed then cut a slice out and they bend it in half. If there is more than 1/16" tear you fail. Then ya get to pay $125 again and retest. Not an easy test and I have 3 process certs.

WABO? AWS? ASME?

TIG, FCAW, SMAW?

Steel, aluminum?

Oh, how loudly I hear you: I am currenly unable to collect the eggs from the Hamburgs because the run is only 4' tall and my ribs are not yet healed sufficiently for that amount of bending.

(eta: that means they wait until my daughter gets home at 7:30pm)

Ouch!CR, I know how that feels-just about anyway, I started up the back steps yesterday, heard a squack from the coops, turned my head to look and missed the corner of the step and fell up the steps, didn't hurt too much at first but now it really zinging me! I have a bad back from being thrown from a horse years ago, I landed on an old fence post & tire rim that was laid down on it's side, fractured my pelvis and broke a blood vein in my eye, so I have no center vision in the left eye. You just learn to cope.
this rounded out my week, I dumped a quart of purple paint I was using to trim the coops with right smack dab in the middle of our patio- scramble to clean it up got most of it with soap and water and a scrub brush. Then 2 days later I was doing my morning chicken chores, turned on the outside faucet and nothing happened so I gave it a good crank......

The frost free faucet broke and we had to turn the water off for the whole house and call a plumber... husband will NOT climb under the house. because we live so far out $450.00 for new faucet--is it made of Gold !!!

I hope this next week will be better for all of us.

! That hurts just to imagine it. We haven't built the run off the coop yet, but it was my plan from the beginning to make it 6'. I am just over that, and as much bending as I do planting and weeding, I need no more of it to clean runs.

My first run for LF is 6' and works great but I didn't have the stuff to make these tall and didn't plan on having to weed eat them. I guess I need more banties to keep the grass down in thier runs.

Susie,
Welcome! Which end of the lake do you live on? We are on the north end just inside the Auburn city limits. Our oldest son lives in Bonney Lake so we are around the whole lake fairly often.

We are at the north end of the lake too. Just past the middle school, by the fire station that is before Tapps Island. Our son and one daughter also live in Bonney Lake. If you take 210th (214th) to Bonney Lake, you drive right past us!

Our kids are both in Panorama Heights in BL.
