Those prices are higher than our normal prices but not by much.

Go to Texas ... every grocery store had prices better than the dented can places here, and the produce looked great!

Are you out of your mind, Texas is more miserable than here. You could not pay me enough money to go to Texas this time of the year.

Hmm, My younger sister live there, I wonder.

A friend of ours has family in TX and says they are already mandated to ration water. That is so sad when I'm sure it has just rained 2 inches here in the last hour! And it is not letting up!

Yes. Last night we had 2 1/2 inches of rain and there are places 3 - 4 hours south of us that have been in a drought all spring and summer.

Anyone here from or ever heard of Granite Falls, WA? I grew up there. Of course I now live in South Carolina but get drawn back to the country of rain! Do you know how lucky you are to live out there!

I'm getting ahead of myself again. I'm thinking about integrating the next batch of Spitz hatchlings into the big coop. I'm wondering if I do it when I get rid of my extra cockerels, will that upset the pecking order enough that the younger birds won't be picked on as much, or will it make them more likely to be picked on?

Traffic here is usually not bad at all, unless you come through at the start of a holiday weekend and the place is filled with RV's! I never thought to check the grange for canning supplies. I'll call them in the morning.

Or I may go to the other side of the Mtns and pick up some apricots while I'm there. I found great prices at "Yokes", but the closest Yokes is in Kennewick or Spokane.

Where is Winco? Are they related to Wall Mart? If so, DH won't be happy if I go there.

Winco is non - union, helps with prices. They seem to carry alot of Mexican type stuff too. They have a Winco in Kent right off 167, close to Renton. There is also one in Puyallup on 176th, which is the far end of Puyallup. Our Winco is new, they just opened up last yr in Sumner right off 410. Those are the ones I know of. I love it but I do still shop walmart. If I have work where I drive past Winco I will go there but if I'm in Bonney lake I won't go down the hill to Winco. I'd end up spending more in gas just getting back up the hill as my vehicles struggle up hills. Winco does have really good prices on things. Although my favorite bread on sale is a good price at $2.50 about but when not on sale its over $4 at Winco, I've never seen it that high at walmart ever. I will only buy it on sale price at Winco. Here's their locations: http://www.wincofoods.com/about/locations/washington/

Yup. Been through there on the way to the Ice Caves plenty of times. We can whine about the rain all we want, but I will take it over oppressive heat and drought any day. Yes, we are lucky to be out here.
