several of them look a lot like my beloved Tippy, the first cat I was allowed to have (age 9)
one thought -- years later, my cat Chriseis -- 3/4 Siamese and blackglama mink color, deep brown in full sun
was routed up to my aunt's dairy farm since we were moving where he couldn't go
no, he wasn't neutered, and his progeny and descendants were SO coveted in that area, that my aunt actually made quite a bit of money, selling off these incredible mousing barn cats ... so if you introduce a few Siamese genes into the population, presto, no more rodents
Chris-cat actually took on a rat larger than he was, in our garage rafters in California .... hint, the rat did not win ...
My cat Moose, a feline version of a red-tail hawk in hunting style, was about 3/8 Siamese: his father was half and his mother a quarter. Moose's father was a big stray I called the Rabbit God (see
Watership Down). He was weirdly marked, pale grey with dark grey shadowed map-spots and dark blue points, and had a kinked 3/4 tail and bright turquoise eyes. Moose was solid blue-grey. The ones at my sister's probably have some Siamese- there's usually one or two kittens with points in every litter, although not this year. This will probably be the last major kitten crop; I think all of the moms are supposed to get spayed, or all but one. They were supposed to be spayed last fall but the U joint fell out of the car that morning. The year before, they were going to go to the vet the afternoon of the day my sister got thrown into the air by a cow and came down with a ruptured hamstring.
The female that established this line was a tiny little thing who had no respect for rats or squirrels, and slaughtered them efficiently, but she moved out in a huff when my sister brought her dog home.
