No rain here yet just lots of wind. I just got done pulling tansy on the remaining 15 of 35 so if it rains now that is ok. Now I can find inside things to do.
Looking at the satellite imagery I'm sorry to say, the storm is just about over, and missed you guys. If you didn't get rain, don't expect anything different. I guess that's how it goes though - If it rains, but only a little, the wettest places get first dibs

Please send it our way we have not had any rain in ages,June I believe. Of course the wind is blowing now so it is cooler than yesterday thank goodness.

The wind is whipping the trees around out here. These big old Locust trees are snapping and popping like crazy. We dont normally get big winds like this, when the tree's are full! Scary stuff!

The guy I leased a two year old red Shorthorn bull and bought a yearling roan from about the time I started posting here- I have a small polled (allegedly, I got a bad bull about twelve years ago and ended up with horned animals popping up every once in a while) Beef Shorthorn herd that's bred to black most of the time- the commercial herd is about 25% Angus X Shorthorn now, since there's a substantial decrease in calving problems and increase in mothering ability. The Bull Guy has the ultimate Beef Shorthorn name: Bennett. I bought one of my two-ever purchased cows from his dad when I was 15, back in the Johnson administration
Anything but Angus is "special" these days, just as anything but Holstein is "special" when it comes to dairy (although that latter is less true than it was a decade ago, since an all black-and-white dairy herd failed to meet the demand for milk fat for ice cream and butter; someone I know who used to milk 500 Holsteins is now raising Jerseys): Beef Shorthorns are on the Livestock Conservancy watch list. I have to fight every time I want to conserve this herd: my BIL thinks anyone who raises anything but pink pigs and black cows is doing it wrong.

You have my deepest thanks and congratulations for pulling your Tansy. Apparently my cousin got his kids to do it (or maybe the guy who comes and rides one of the Appaloosas took that on; he's a useful sort of Army Lieut. who misses the farm) so I wasn't stuck with the job.

This wasn't even mine it was for Michelle since 1) she really can't manage withe her injury and 2) she is out of town for a week. I try to leave her pleasant little surprises to return to. I completely filled the big 65gal garbage can plus 2 jumbo G bags that are setting on top.
