Iowa Blues are an unusual breed. May we see pictures?

And welcome.

Thanks for the welcome. Would love to show you pics of my Iowa Blues (all spring 2011 stock), but haven't figured out how to post a picture yet. I've tried a time or two... no luck.

I do have a FaceBook page I started dedicated to the Iowa Blues. Several pics of my Blues are there. And my avatar is a picture of my Iowa Blue rooster. I call him "Bleu" (so original, I know! LOL) He's a handsome devil.

Can you send us a link to your FB page?

Hermiston is a place.

It is, but it is also a company that sells Watermelons at large markets like Costco.

I am in love with them!

Is it a company or a grower's co-op? Because it started out as a grower's co-op, and stayed one when TreeTop, et'c, went to the dark side.

DH and I are enjoying our days off together! After 14 days straight at the theater I'm able to stay home today - no wine shop, no theater until Thursday. We went to the casino last night and think we might actually go to a movie theater later this afternoon when the work in the yard is done.

So, here are a few camera phone pics of Candy's grand chicks. The quality is not so good, but I'm going to find some time today to get out the good camera and see if I can get some individual pics of them. I'm working very hard at not closely identifying them, naming them, etc. I don't want to get attached to these babies since Candy and I have agreed that there is a good home waiting for them in a few weeks. But they are just so darn cute they do have to get an occasional snuggling.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day -

WARNING: Pic Heavy!

When I've had that message and yes, I know they ARE jpeg files, I go into my editing program and resize the image, or crop it just a tiny bit to fool the upload system into believing it's okay to load. Check the dpi, (resolution) on your files and make certain they aren't too large. You can upload a 72 dpi file on here and it should still be fine.

Candy's grand chicks? They are all Easter Eggers. Most came from blue-green eggs, one came from an olive egg and there may be one "stone" colored egg that hatched as well. Once they started hatching in the middle of the night though, I couldn't tell who came from which egg!

ETA: These are from Kaneke's eggs. She let me have my broody hen hatch them. Whitey Ford, the Light Sussex is their foster mom, but she would tell you differently. She is their Mom and fiercely protective. She does let me get in there and fuss with them because she knows where the food and water come from, but she pecked DH hard yesterday when he stuck his hand in there!
