This is my boy about 3 months ago - he's around 9/10 months old now - bigger and more filled out. I'll try and find some other pics showing his size compared to the ladies. I have some really nice crosses from him - some Ameraucana babies and the Polish crosses are a real kick, with the funny half-crests and his gorgeous lacing

BLRWs, like all other Andalusian-type blue chickens, come in black, blue and splash genetics; I have two splash BLRW cockerels, two splash BLRW pullets and a blue BLRW who has not laid an egg for two weeks (

) although apparently healthy otherwise.


Breeding blue to blue gives you 1/4 black, 1/2 blue, 1/4 splash; blue to splash 1/2 blue, 1/2 splash, black to black 100% splash, splash to splash 100% splash, black to splash (drumroll) 100% blue so the math demands I get a black laced red rooster with BLRW parents.

Audrey had her appointment yesterday--she's now 9.06lbs!

She's only in the 50th percentile for weight but at 22 inches long, she's in the 75th for length and her head is in the 75th as well--she's got DH's big head!
