I looked at the calendar. It appears this coming Wednesday works, the following Wednesday does not. So Wednesday, September 14th for South Sound get-together? 5:30, 6 PM at Vino Aquino. We can do a little wine tasting... If you'd like to bring a little simple something to nosh on with wine samples, that's great, otherwise don't worry about it. We'll keep it simple. I'm figuring maybe 6-8 PM for a visit?
ALL are invited, north enders, south enders, east, west. Who's available that evening? The wine shop is just 2 minutes from the 6th Avenue exit off Highway 16,(towards the Narrows Bridge).
The address is:
Vino Aquino
4417 6th Avenue
Tacoma WA 98406
(253) 272-5511

I get off work at 6!! I will stop by for sure.

Tamara, is there still going to be a black BLRW for me some day? I'm looking at what I have and what I want and that seems to be the thing I need for the (develop superior line of BLRW) part of my plans.

Yes possibly, but not until early spring probably. My most recent hatch (12 wks old now) ended up with two blue BLRW cockerels (and two splash if anyone wants one?). I sold one of the blue and plan to keep the other. I also have a black BLRW cockerel who hatched in Feb I think? I plan to do at least one breeding with him, maybe two and then he will be available if you would like him. I do go back and forth on him though wether or not he is true black or very very dark blue. I should know more after I breed him. I should do one hatch from him with just my splash hens to see if the chicks are all blue. Then we will know for sure he is black. Actually, that is what I will do. If the chicks are not all blue, then I will probably want to do a second hatch with him as I am after as many blue chicks as I can get. I currently have 5 hens/pullets of laying age, 4 of which are splash, one a very light blue. In my most recent hatch, I have only one pullet, and I am hoping

that she is a light blue, but she may also be a splash. I will have to post some pics soon. I will definently let you know when he is available though.

I am not, in fact, in any particular hurry right now, mostly because it's been such a long haul getting work done on coops, and because if anything else the last 365 days have cured me forever of impatience: the next few hours will be the anniversary of the slowest and most miserable 47 hours of my adult life, when my husband was in the CCU waiting for the secong half of his back surgery.

What cute little chubby cheeks,I bet it's hard to resist giving them a kiss every time you pick her up. she's holding up her head now?
They grow so fast.

I may be coming on time but with kids - if so, let's try to park ourselves near the play area.

Whaddaya think of this coop? It's made with red cedar, IIRC. Not sure I like the metal roof, but overall it's a nice setup and the right size. The coop is walk-in from the back as well as inside. Nesting boxes are inside (would be extra $ for external ones). The price is a little painful though. I swear, I cannot find a coop and run anywhere near what I had hoped to pay. *sigh*

(ETA - It's $900 and 5x12 total).
