Yeah, no apparent reason, either- although she'd had three nice big bull calves in a row, so this was secondary infertility, and was unconnected with any apparent illness, infection, et'c. Some times it happens, and I've gotten to the point where I've lost all my pet cows and she was sort of a cranky grump (and a bully) so I'm not as upset as I would have been a few years ago.
I can't take steroids because it's one of a long list of "bad for diabetics" meds; the allergist says I'm on the low end of what's called "Eosin Staining Body Disorder" which has something to do with mechanical irritation from small particles (raw flour, large pollenae, spores, mineral dust) rather than histamine reactions to foreign proteins, but that antihistamines can help with the inflamation (since I can't take decongestants due to diabetes and hypertension). Wasabi is good when I'm really not breathing, and everything has been better since I got a pneumovac. I've eaten an organic/low mucus/ acidic diet for decades without that helping much, and short of going out a la Japonaise in gloves and facemask, I'm pretty much stuck with recognizing when I'm getting sick and getting into the Tigerbalm/echinacea/raised humidity thing. That and dusting, or even better having someone else dust and vacuum while I'm elsewhere, ha ha ha. (Yeah, right, like that'll happen).
*sigh*
Bored now
