Yup- two eggs more pipping, a not-Sylvia pink and a dark brown-green, so we have hopes of it not being an only child. I've got it (her? optimists say her, right?) next to a rice-filled sock wrapped in a pair of old but VERY CLEAN gym shorts until we can get the electrical stuff switched around for the heat lamp.

five minutes on: Three eggs pipping, now pink, darkest greenish brown, and pale turquoise.

pink is Ginger's, dark is Becky's (the lighter moss green is probably from Phoebe [pointed end] or Anitra [much rounder]), the turquoise blue is likely Deirdre's, and if a large minty or pale stone green one pips, that's Christina's

(I think both Dana and Dawn reported that my eggs started hatching a day early)

yes, Deirdre (hallerlake) was amused that I would give one of my chickens the same name as hers -- as a chick, Deirdre-the-chicken had a definite black teardrop under her eye on each side; I don't know my Irish legends as well as I might but I did recall parts of that one ...

Christina after Christina Aguilera -- she had wide dark eyeliner as a chick (we have, I think, three Christinas -- human type -- on this list/thread also )

Becky pecked everyone else

Anitra did this little dance step, almost like a rooster's

Phoebe had, and still has, wild-bird coloration .. dark head, clean face, gold duckwing plumage

while Ginger has always been redder .. rusty as a chick and mahogany now
