I have raised meat birds, but not at this time of the year. I would think that you may have to supplement heat. They often don't feather out very fast, and they will have a lot of skin showing for most of the 8 weeks. They would need to be kept out of the rain completely too. I don't think that they are smart enough to do it themselves.

My mom named me Jaime, thinking it was a prettier spelling. Not realizing it is a Hispanic boy name.

When I was little, my best friend's dad always called me "Hi Me" and it confused the heck out of me. It wasn't until 7th grade Spanish class that I learned why. Oh I would get all sorts of gender specific mail and email when I lived in Southern California. And people were surprised I was a girl who didn't speak Spanish.

I'm having trouble getting my girls down the ramp/ladder thing. Bribing to go up is a no go. A few will sit on it during the day, but they only go half way up. I have to place them in their coop area. In the morning, the don't want to go down. I got two to go. Tried bribing, but it is an awkward angle so I gave up. I hope it clicks in the next few days. It is like right now they think it is a ramp to heck and they don't realize it connects the two places they know.

cookies and temporary files are your cache. Your browsers cache are files your computer saves so the next time you go to a site it will load faster.

I Google "How clear my cache on a PC." I so tickled because it was so easy to do with the instructions. I'm also delighted

that I figured out by myself, of course I can post the link to the page I used. It had instructions for just about any system.

Mom always alternates ice pack with heating pad on her back and swears by it. I've a good spine so I wouldn't know how much it helps. She also says that laying on the floor with legs on a chair or the couch helps if it's a muscle issue.

I never hurt bad enough to face a german shepherd tongue and try it. Dog assumes if I get on the floor for anything that something is wrong and tries to help me.

I had a bit of a scare yesterday morning. It was just light enough out and I let the dogs out then went to let the chickens out. The dogs usually run way out to the front corner to do their business in the brush and ran out there then, about 400 ft from the house coop. I'm fumbling with the closure for the run and I hear warning barking from both dogs. My boy doesn't bark unless there is something. I can see them through the run and they are charging toward me barking. I turn around and there is a big 4x4 buck with his head lowered about 15 to 20 feet from me coming at me. He would have got me from behind! He thought about staying and fighting as the dogs came up but did run right before they got to him. They chased him off the property then came back.

That's the first I've had a deer stalk me. There weren't any does around or anything. He was not behind the house when we went out or the dogs or I would have seen him.

It should kick in in a few day's. Though it took all summer for the batch of Light Sussex's to figure out where the inside of the coop was. They would sleep under the coop. I gave up trying to teach them. They were safe and seemed happy under the coop. Now they are all in the coop, with just one or two that haven't figured out the roosting thing. I know that it will happen someday.

OMG What a story, good thing your dogs were there for you. I so know what you mean about laying on the floor. I may as well go to a car wash. There are no leass than 5 leittle tounges willing to fix things.

And the heat and cold does help with mussels. Now if I could send the meds via teletransport.........

Whoa, that is scary! Is it rutting season?

yes the on the back knees up is normally a good position and in fact when I have trouble I sleepthat way too. As for getting on the floor.... I just really don't see that going so well with a large thud of Da Fat Kid falling. And then comes the fun of getting up NOT . As much asI know it is supposed to help I don't tolerate ice treatment well at all.

So yesterday evening I was on the phone with DH, confessing about the 150.00 Aquarium Filter, and I started out the back sliding door. I paused for some reason. TG!!!! I suddenly looked up and.......

Can you see the problem?

Here is a close up of Charlotte.

She is going to be relocated today. I am sure that at some point I will forget that she is right there at face level. I kind of like spiders, but not in the face. I think it would upset Charlotte too. Can you only imagine what she will be thinking when I ruin all of her hard work.
