How much roughly does a 1/4 of a beef cut/wrapped go for these days? If available I may be interested.

I think $400-$500 or so....depending on where it's from. That includes the kill fee, too. We just got 1/2 a beef and a whole pig, too.

Thank God we paid for it last year!

Thanks for the info. I am sorry you have to go back to work so soon.

I had to go back to work when my DS was two months old. I was not ready, but was laid off at six months pg so had to take a great job when it came along. I still cried every day for the first week or so - but it got more bearable. I hope it does for you too.

Yeah I break down every time I even THINK about it.

I know next Tuesday is going to be a killer at work.

Especially since I'll have 10,000 questions (including where is she now).

RFF: you will ask that one question....at least 10,000 times, itself. I am so sorry. I know it is hard to do.

Well ya might already knowthisonebut one ofmy fav ways is to dip the chops in egg then bread crumb (I repeat this. Season to your likes. Then place in a fairly hot skillet with a little extra oil DO NOT disturb until the nice golen color comes about 1/2 way up the side. Then carefully scrape loose from the pan turn over and repeat. once both sides are done pop in theoven 350 for about 30 min. they will fall apart in yer mouth. Also if yer chops arenice thick ones a stuff em just before putting in the oven.

Sounds good! I got these from Scott with my half pig. He took me to the barn and showed me 3 to choose from, and asked which I wanted. One big black and white one walked up and batted her (his?) long eyelashes at me!

When I was a kid, we ate them a couple times a year, but always with boiled potatoes and sauer kraut -

I was nearly 30 before I ate potatoes again and I still hate sauer kraut.

OK so I could do the spuds. Although I normally do whipped tators n gravy. BUT rotten cabbage

that just ruined the whole thing. You do ya gotta have apple sauce with chops right. Yes it is a crime to eat pork chops with no apple sauce.

I know I get a whole hog custom cut wrapped, provided, smoked for around $350 & delivered. & my half cow in the same foe about 550-600 depending on weight. THE BEST meat ever, & customer service cannot be beat. Been going here for 7 years.

I ate the applesauce, it was the only decent part of the meal. Mom used to make me chew the meat until it was white before I could spit it out (Beef or pork). She'd pan-fry it in its own grease with some onions and mushrooms, then mash the potatoes in slightly with the rotten cabbage, throw a pork-chop up on top of the pile, then pour the pan grease and onions ans mushrooms on top. I used to cry at the dinner table for an hour or more before mom would take the plate away, stick it on top of the fridge and serve it to me again at breakfast. We were not allowed to turn down any food. Abou thet the only worse foods are limburger cheese, and a creamy beef stewy dish mom made with capers in it. Capers? I think I would rather eat a bar of soap! Caraway seeds are nasty too.
