Snoqualmie is the way you should go!!!!!!!!!!!
Snoqualmie adds quite a bit of time. I was hoping 1 day to go to my brothers, spend the night, then the Sat morning get up and go over to chehalis. The shortest way is US 12 - White Pass. I think that Snoqualmie would still be about 4 hours from yakima to Chehalis. I was looking for bein able to sleep/rest. White pass is a straight shot from Yakima....that is why it looked so nice. I will work on husband.

I'm so sorry. I'd also be interested in prices for a couple of the Copper Marans. I could also help transport as many as would fit in my trunk of my Corolla back to the Kenmore/Kirkland area or drop them somewhere along the way.

Well while white pass is a 2 lane road. It really isn't all that bad. They do a good job keeping it open. Just put it in 4wd when ya hit the snow / ice and take it out when ya run off the snow / ice.. It's just like eatin lettuce ain't nothin to it !!!!!

I lurk on the English Orp thead and the Lavender Orp thread by hinkjc. I keep meaning to sign up for the United Orpington Club but haven't yet, that's where most of the English Orp folks hang out.
Well DH says that from our house (Omak) to Chehalis is roughly 8-9 hours.....
from Yakima via Snoqualmie I am looking at 4-5 hours.
North Cross State is too far North and by then it may be closed anyway.
So my best bet is still White Pass. I could go the night before to my brother's, sleep good. Get up...Chehalis is 2.5-3 hours frm there. I could pay for motel for 1 night stay in Chehalis...go Sunday morning back to Yakima. Monday get up and come home.
That is my plan so far. Now we will see if it will work.

Thanks alot....I am going to be pursuing the English Orps and the Seramas and I will be getting into showing. I am so excited. Of the 3 little cockerels I have...none will be sent to freezer camp. I need to figure out who is the best to use in a breeding program - 1 for that. 1 will get to be the head roo for the misc. layer pen...and #3 will either be rehomed or another pen of orps. 2 pullets. They are of course staying. I need to get me a couple of good hens to go forward with this project. But first, I need to know what the heck I am doing.....

But since she said she would be overnighting in Yakima. Snoqualmie would be the long way.
either way is long.
Yakima is my best bet and then White Pass. All I can do is hope/pray that the weather is nice that weekend. I am not afraid of snow....I am afraid of the guy in the other lane coming at me that does not know a thing about snow. I was raised in it. Stay off the gas....stay off the break. Take it easy. All will be good.
