Thank you for the fun package!!! It was soooo awesome to come home to a box on the front porch! And it had nothing to do with any kind of court!!

Kayla would NOT let me open it! It was like an early Christmas for her!! It's funny to watch a almost 17 year old jump up and down with excitement and act like a 5 year old! You hit the big jackpot with the purple cou cou marans! She is a big Husky fan!

She is plotting a special "thank you" token of appreciation for you.

You are truly a kind and wonderful friend...... I love ya mama!!

See and this is just one more reason to deepfry that bird.

...or skip it altogether.

We tried a Field Roast this year. Heated up in 45 minutes.

Last year, we had quiche.

Is there a reason to do this? Should they be dry?

I'm trying the deep litter method, and I read somewhere that leaves made a good bedding material. Seemed worth a try - much cheaper than wood shavings.

Mine were dry until a few days ago. I have no idea if there is anything wrong with using wet leaves, but I've been doing it.

So for anyone who was wondering.... the house that I am living in was up for auction (again) last Friday. (the 18th)

I do not know what the outcome is. I have not received any letters stating that is was postponed (again) or if has sold. I'm hoping that I will know soon!

We did it! We cooked our 54 pound turkey and he was great! True, Craig had to buy a new pan from a restaurant going out of business and then "persuade it" with his hammer to fit our oven. True, we did have to cook him all night. True, it took 2 hefty guys to get him in and out of the oven. But it was all worth it to see the look on everyone's face when they beheld our pteryodactyl. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Oh and for any newbies----------------------

The pictures that CL posted awhile back from the Monroe show last spring... the pink and blue blankets with DUCKS on them in the background.... Yep! those are mine!!! LOL!!!

The manager of a McDonalds near me whacked back a whole row of Star Magnolias so they were three feet tall and flat topped. Killed them all dead.

And then there's this, a bunch of paper birches that had been what Cass Turnbull of Plant Amnesty calls "lollypopped" that are being rehabbed at Lacey Community Park to be replanted when they're back to a natural shape:

Oh my - if I had trees that looked like that, I think I'd burn them.

I'm not privy to the reason they were saved- they're sitting near where a greenhouse Lacey Facilities used to use to grow landscape plants burned down, so I'm not even sure when they were moved here. They had been part of a nice piece of tree-and-boulder landscaping that was ruined when the building changed hands. They were MUCH uglier when they were sticks with puffballs!

WoW, that is one HUGE Turkey! I'm trying to figure out what to make with all the leftovers from a 12 pound bird - we have about 2/3 of it left and I was thinking that is a whole lot of turkey pot pie and turkey chilli!

Do you have any photos? I want one of the guys trying to wedge it into the oven!
