Nets of any sort are awesome scores!
use as:
run cover
garden trellis/ladder
hold down plastic on a greenhouse frame (over the plastic so it won't fly away)
and more!

Fishing nets, tennis, baseball, golf, soccer are all good!

I agree, but the Gig Harborites have certain standards of how their property should look. Old, used stinky fishing nets definately don't fit in anywhere. (kind of like the blue tarp thing, I even hate blue tarps. If I desperately need a tarp I buy a brown one.)

Wow, sorry !
Is there some way to net over & give you some peace of mind & chicken security ?
Birds of prey are terrified of being ensnarled in nets & wire...if at all possible they avoid it.
Quite a few times we have seen folks run 50# monofilament back & forth over a fish pond or bird run to scare off birds.
We called it the "no fly zone" and it quite clear so did not make the yard look so weird.
Hope you find a way to safety!
Yesterday we saw 2 adult baldies & 2 juveniles circling....so it is a matter of time here as long as I let my birds free range.
The big eagles usually buzz the place & move on...I am sure they see the nets.
Only birds with no nets is my turkeys, and there is no eagle that can pick one of them up.
At first sight of any over head bird, ALL the roosters sound the alarm and ALL the birds hide.
Hope you figure out a way!!

They may not be able to pick them up, but a friend of mine with exhibition geese in Minnesota had a problem with bald eagles eating her birds.

Yes, the super scarry part is when the eagles/hawks learn they can simply hop down in between the netting & walk right into the coop or under a car or where ever the birds are hiding, and just grab one one & eat it right there & then.
I have a .410 for that;) and of course I aim right over their heads

Needless to say, they do not come back.

I am making Gluten free pizza right now.
The crust is sorghum/brown rice & corn starch with a tsp of corn oil, and 1 cup of water...painted on a parchment & run under the pizza cooker machine...love that thing.
After a bit, I peel the parchment & cook the other side til I have a big hard crusty frisbee...then on with the adornments.

Sounds like the Paleo thing to me. Nothing wrong with MEAT!

I made a cole slaw the other day, first time in my life! Ha, veggies!

same here, no vegetarian diet for me either, life of pain if that were the only option!! although I can eat pasta and CL cant. tonight is home made mac and cheese, colby jack cheese, layered in the mac with melted jack sauce and then baked. ham steak on the side with some early june peas. I can eat peas, but I hate them unless they are paired with mac and cheese. yes I am strange.
on a happier note, said Hawk will not be bothering my chickens any more. he took care of my problem on his own accord.

I stick to Atkins Induction.my tum tum is way happy there !!

Worked before...as I said, not boiling.
And I do not let them just sit in there.
Seems to me that sand blasting would rub out the little hexes....round them all off.

Not if you use a LIGHT DUTY sandblaster with fine media or glass spheres! Andas for the cell shapes. They will not be as pronounced when you re-wax no matter what but it doesn't matter. The bees know what to do it just helps keep them in order and make the best use of space.

Thanks CR...........what I need now is another Hive Body...I have 2 hive bodies full of frames & enough extra frames for 3 more bodies...........got to get building on that....

Tweakers work in a strange way. Hey speaking of did ya all hear they busted a guy out here for (last I heard) $8 million worth of cash and meth. They say 6.5 oz. of meth.

We don't have snow but it did get colder starting last night even though it didn't freeze it felt colder. And it was cold today. Don't know the temp though.

I bought this Kava tea because it said 'stress relief' on the box. It 'eases tension and promotes relaxation'. Of course I won't be able to tell if it works since I just had a glass of wine. Wondering if the Kava drink they have in Hawaii is non alchoholic.

OK, I have this joke. This is not spam.

It's called Milk and Eggs and this story is perfectly logical to all males.

A wife asks her husband, " Could you please go to the store and buy one carton of milk, and if they have eggs buy six."

A short time later the husband returns with 6 cartons of milk. The wife asks him, "Why did you buy six cartons of milk?"

He replied, " They had eggs."
