I was wondering if anyone can help me with this young hen. I purchased 4 D'Uccles as chicks last spring. A Mille Flore, a white, a porcelain and a black.
The pic (sorry not the greatest picture) is of the black one(D'Uccle), but it doesn't look anything like the other 3. It almost has a top(hat of feathers), you can't see any type of comb. She is a lot bigger and seems to have shorter legs (or maybe the fatter body just makes them look shorter) Could she be something other than a D'Uccle or a mix? I'm still learning, so I don't know alot about different types of breeds yet. Does she look familiar to anyone? I'm not breeding, so it doesn't really matter, I'm just curious for learning sake. Her eggs are on the smaller side and white. Could she just be an odd D'Uccle?
Thanks for any info.
The d'Uccles are my 'pretty' birds. My favs (so far) seem to start with Delawares and Americaunas. But when I started out, I was given a D'Uccle roo that needed a home, and I picked up the little hens to make him happy.

Nets of any sort are awesome scores!
use as:
run cover
garden trellis/ladder
hold down plastic on a greenhouse frame (over the plastic so it won't fly away)
and more!

Fishing nets, tennis, baseball, golf, soccer are all good!

I agree, but the Gig Harborites have certain standards of how their property should look. Old, used stinky fishing nets definately don't fit in anywhere. kind of like the blue tarp thing, I even hate blue tarps. If I desperately need a tarp I buy a brown one.)

WHAT So you have issues with Lewis County wood sheds.????

Not if you use a LIGHT DUTY sandblaster with fine media or glass spheres! Andas for the cell shapes. They will not be as pronounced when you re-wax no matter what but it doesn't matter. The bees know what to do it just helps keep them in order and make the best use of space.

Thanks CR...........what I need now is another Hive Body...I have 2 hive bodies full of frames & enough extra frames for 3 more bodies...........got to get building on that....

You do know that you only need 2 deep boxes per hive right. You also need Honey Supers with frames and foundation. BTW if you don't have a local source there is a place in Centralia that has supplies.

I keep all the emergency stuff there. Candles, flashlight(one the kids can't abscond) small propane burner, etc. I don't like to have to hunt that stuff down when the power goes out.

CR- So if you put the fridge on a drawer... do you have to be a giant to reach the back of the top shelf ???

Me too. I have the emergency stuff in the cupboards above the stove.

we put the goodies up there (the ones that don't melt) so that we have to stretch to get them, also the cereals which need to stay DRY, since the fridge underneath does exude some heat from the coils
