I am sad. My parents have been lying. My boyfriend finally told me the secret. 2 more chickens killed. in the past few days.... and this is unexpected.
Dad saw this in the pen the other night. Dad now goes to the chicken coop with a shotgun. Coyotes, Owls and now Bobcats... and it can climb.....
As you can see this is a Daytime photo of it too. Good sized kitty. I don't know what birds it has killed. John says they wouldn't tell me cause one of them looked like one of my favorites. BF knows who is important to me and will take a look around to see who is mi

We have those kitties lurking through our woods as well, just waiting for an opportunity to get a free meal. I once brought the dogs in just to groom them, and not 90 minutes later one of those big kitty cats climbed our 6' chainlink and stole a hen. Now my birds only free-range when the doggies are out in their run.

Illia sorry to hear about the Shamo. And of course I knew yer number because I know everything about anything. I am the best that has ever been! And if ya don't believe it just ask me and I will tell ya so. True story just made it up.

So, while returning from tonight's chicken-checking I was told a "Chicken Rustler" called me today ;) I'm a bit shocked anyone knew my # ?

That may have been my fault. I gave your number to at least one of the people I transported your chickens to, possibly all three.

Sorry about your roo. :hugs

OMG!! White out!!! all the sudden it really let loose!! must be getting everything now that you all got last night!! Can't see to the road, which is usually a pretty clear view out the back door, and across the corn field!! YIKES!!! Man I wish I had a snowmobile!! If you can' t beat'em join em!!! LOL!

For most of the week, that is all that went up and down our road. I want to look for a used one; they look like fun!

A chained-up PSE utility truck tried coming down our road 9pm on Thursday. They parked at the top of the hill because they did not dare drive down. They started walking down the hill (It's quite steep) and gave up on that, then they tried walking up to our house, but the snow was too deep, and they gave up on that as well, but they pointed their flashlights at our window and kept twirling them around until I came out. They were trying to fid out the size of the power outage and needed to know how many houses are downhill from me. I told them they needed to go uphill to Wilderness Rim, as that is an older neighborhood with many more houses, lots of trees, and powerlines everywhere. They got in their truck and headed that way. When I was out I still heard branches and trees breaking, but not as many as I heard earlier in the day. When I went out to check on chickens I could hear big branches and trees snapping on the empty 10 acre lot behind me every coupe of minutes! I still need to get out in Daylight to see the damage. I heard it is amazing.

On Friday DD's friend and her mom came trekking down from Wilderness Rim in all their snowgear - their DD was driving them crazy, so they walked her down to play with Olivia. She said their entire neighborhood had downed lines everywhere, utility crews from all over the west coast were tagging the lines with ribbons of various colors depending on how dangerous they were, and they had set up a staging area for all the workers. All the trees close in around their house dumping branches, snow and ice were making them nervous. That evening she was able to get her SUV out to pick up her DD, but they could not get down my street. We had arranged for Alex to wait at the corner with their daughter at a set time since no one had phone service. That worked! I was worried that she would not be able to pull out, and the kids would be standing in the dark in the rain for a long time! Luckily she was there waiting when the kids got there.
