With Chloe I was laid up in bed from 4 months on, due to heart and loung issues. This time around Ive been able to keep going, but now with sickening contractions, being the only licensed driver, work, farm chores, chloe, ect... Im done. 4 days ago I fell backwards over a bale of alfalfa, and sence then the BH contractions have been very severe, every day about 5-6 a day. My job is just too physical, and my Dr. is iritated that Ive waited this long to stop.

Chloe makes me proud every day. I know I am biased but she is just too smart for a 3 year old. And she already talks back, is wilfull and stubborn, and has quite the vocabulary.

My next Dr.s appointment is on the 29th, so I will ask her then about taking a trip to Monroe.

Ugh Cheryl, I wish you could take it easy but it sounds like it's kind of impossible with your life! Hope you are able to make it to Monroe.

FlyRobinFly;

I have a lovely GOOSE egg if you are interested for your project?

That is so kind of you, TC! I'm heading out of town for a week though, so not sure how we'd get it to me. Your Tufted Roman is beautiful, and very nice sentry too.

Okay, I am 244 posts behind with no chance on getting caught up tonight. I leave for Bonney Lake in the morning to stay with T Hi. I will be going to the Tacoma Dome on Friday and Saturday to wtch the boys. Very excited.

4312, I won't be able to come for the meet up at T Hi's but I hope you have a great trip and that David does well at state! Great pictures, the muscles on Jacob are amazing, he looks like a sculpture. And David does not look like 285 lbs at all!

Well today was the big day that my white silkie hen has been waiting for. See she normally lays 4-6 eggs then goes broody for a month or more. Well today I put her to work earning her keep. I put her in the barn and gave her 6 RIR B eggs. At first she was not very proud of me for taking her away from her flock (RIR B). She was just throwin a big ole fit. But then after a couple minutes she settled right down on them eggs and I am confident she will do fine. So here's hopin fer my first RIR B hatch.

CR, I hope you get some great RIR banties!

I've been stung/swarmed by yellow jackets. It's called a sting for a reason, but not really terribly painful.
I've been bit by cockateils and quaker parakeets. Had small hunks of flesh removed. That hurt.

What is a duck or goose bite like? Looks like they can just pinch.

Russ- any teeth?

Geese have "serrations" on the beaks, and they can deliver a pretty mean bite. But, they tend to "flog" with their wings, and bigger geese are able to break bones with their wings.

I'm sure my Muscovies could bite too, even without serrations. Having said that, I've NEVER had any of my geese (when I had many) or my ducks bite. The Muscovies are simply too lazy, or laid back (haven't decided which yet!), and just like being quiet.

Chickens, that's another story

I was standing next to CL when the one Muscovy made the hissing noise. It was very soft and didn't seem to be an aggressive sort of sound. I'm not used to 'scovies though, the ducks I've been around are Magpies, Cayugas and assorted wine bottles, er Runners and Runner types.

Well, I just got one of my MIA chickens home today. She was with a friend who has a nice big Rooster - so now I shall collect eggs from her. Not that I need more chickens - have sold eight this week already, and I'm going to swap a couple more for fresh fish (well, it was flash frozen on the boat, so Almost fresh!).

One of my bunnies had babies yesterday. We're not sure how many - don't want to disturb her for a couple of days. She's a pretty good mommy, but don't rock the boat as they say. We have 5 more we THINK are pregnant - keeping fingers crossed.
Bunny meat is SOOOOO tasty

Hey YOU were the one that wanted to trade remember??? I can't help it if they are just the best ducks in the world!!!
And CL.... glad I could help!! LOL!!

Yup, you got that right! They don't quack loudly, tthey are either friendly, or standoffish, but never had a mean one (I'm sure there are some though). We treat ours well, so they are good birds.

Every year, I tame a few Henrys (I call all my hand tamed birds Henry) and sell them on CL for $10 each. So, for a few days old, and a bit of TLC, all those lonely peoples out there can have a tame duck.
Henry 18th

Gave one to my sister - it has a companion, a mini lop bunny and they share the same pen, and they go everywhere together. It's pretty funny to watch this huge girl duck, put her wings over this little boy bunny so protectively.

Hey guys! I don't get on here much anymore and will probably be on here less and less. I'm selling most of my flock (keeping a few breeds to show) and pretty much leaving BYC.

I recently received a horrible, degrading and totally bizarre, downright rude e-mail from someone (from BYC) and I'm confused, hurt and feel utterly saddened by it. I won't name names but this person knows who they are.

Anyway, you guys are all awesome, I do miss talking to you all and hope to see some of you at upcoming shows!

Take care!
