I wish you were closer!! my trees need pruned and I dont know how to do it! can I prune them now? one is a 5 way grafted apple tree,. has 5 different apples on it. its in bad need... I have two giant royal ann cherries that have not been pruned in years and do not produce much of anything anymore. and a little apple that has red fleshed apples. and a old transluscent that I might cut down... dont like those apples and they make a mess

DD and her young man came over and helped me move the Tower of Solitude yesterday. I'm building a tube run of cage wire with a yard wire foundation, covering the tower itself with greenhouse plastic, making a nest box on the lower perch and sticking the two elder EE pullets there as soon as possible. I've got an old oil barrel stand coming which is going to support a new coop for the old chicken tractor (all wood cut and ready for assembly) and the cockerels will go in there.

Not today, though, today, if my husband can drive at all, we're going somewhere which is not here, and not the drive to the westside or Tumwater, because I haven't been anywhere even as exotic as Yelm this year, and it's getting old.

Well out of 5 eggs 2 hatched...1 died as its belly button did not close. I was not here to "fix" it. Husband was "watching" the hatch for me. Another started to pip...but I think it was not in the right position and if DH had seen it he could have helped some. I did "necropsies" on the unhatched eggs and I think I may be having the humidity a bit high. The 3 that did not hatch had not turned up to the air sacs. They were butts at the air sacs. Is this a sign of them being too "swollen" so they were unable to turn? I hear others talking of this. I think on next hatch I do I will weigh eggs. I am also going to go read some other threads and see what is said about all of this.



I would appreciate all thoughts, opinions, ideas, and input.

So, anyway now I have a tiny-tiny singleton. Anyone close to me have a spare chick for a buddy?

Okay, trying to catch up on a few pages...I am NOT going back 500+ posts.

Had a GREAT time at T Hi's. Daffy is so funny. I think Daffy likes me now as I was sneaking her treats. I was unable to sneak the dog or her daughter home with me...but she kept trying to hook me up with duck eggs.

It was very funny with Dafffy's bath. Daffy is quite the "queen". When it is her bath time.....you had best leave her majesty alone....she wants her bath warm and private.

Anyway, oldest son took 4th at State. Very proud of him. Poor Toni had to take me to Tacoma. I did the first day and then driving back to her house afterwards....I think I almost got us killed at least a half dozen times. VERY SCARY!!!! I was so tired Saturday so she took pity on me. Both entire days were such emotional roller coster rides. Watching kids win, and kids lose. Some matches so close. A few kids were hurt and that is always heart breaking.

Met Chris and Suzie...nice to have met you both. I am sorry I was not a better guest and I was falling asleep inthe chair.

Again....thank you so much to Toni with putting up with me and then Jacob on Friday night....although she "punked" Jacob out and he actually had nothing to say...

Holy smokes!! I was tired lastnight! I went to bed at 8:30pm and crashed out until 8:00am this morning!!!

Y'all better watch out!!! That 4312 is quite the party animal!!! Or....maybe.... it is Justbugged or Chickens4gramma!!

So now I have today and tomorrow off of work and I'm cramm packed with stuff to do! DD's have appointments....Papa has appointments.....me = TAXI!!!!
