I don't know how many pages I just went through to get caught up to this point ... but I saw that someone wanted to see this.
It is equipped with a Reptitempt500 that controls a light kit. I have tube through the back and syringe that allows me to add water to sponges that are in the tree little baskets on the ledge without opening the door. After that picture I added a second egg turner on the second shelf. I also added another still air fan to get better air flow. The light bulb has a tin foil shroud to diffuse the heat that is produced while the light is on. Without the cover, the reptitemp was coming on and off too infrequently and I was getting highs and lows.
The eggs in there were the Cuckoos we hatched. One did not pip and one pipped but did not zip. It was my first hatch and I did not know that I could help. I was very happy with 80% on a first hatch in a home made incubator. We went on to hatch over 60 eggs last season. It was a fun project and worth the work!

Yes and you Did an AWESOME job making this. Do ya hire out?? I have a line on a Large apartment fridge. Like chest high to me and probably a little wider than most small apt. size.

No, I didn't do a Craigslist - I have a clientele (Fancy!) and one guy bought a dozen last week, and wants a dozen more. Not sure I"m going to let him have them, may hatch them myself!

Peoples are buying hens too - I have a waiting list for pullets, but not sure I want to sell anymore. I got rid of the ones I didn't like. EXCEPT for one, and I'm having a hard time catching her, wily girl!

I forgot to say that there is a small 4watt night light bulb in the top so that I could look in when the heating light was off.

That is just outrageously cool ! (is that a real word ?? LOL) I LOVE this incubator...you could just pull up a chair & watch it like a TV !!

Want to, but not sure if I can make it. Forgot to request time off (have to a month in advance) wanted to bring birds to show. so now I don't think I would be able to make it in time to bring birds as I have to work on before. I will make sure to put in request for Stevenson in time.

Well I am stressed. Been talking to the vet and trying to keep everything under control..

Not going to say anything about being out of the woods.
My son is with them now giving more Charcoal to them 100 cc per goat and than the waiting game

Son said the hay wasnt that bad mom, so I showed him a site. He just looked at me and said oh..

I really want more detail on this. Did you do a step by step page on this? Or maybe saw something on Youtube? I would love to bookmark and go back and look. I have a 4' upright freezer that just died and this would be a neat project....just have to get the DH to think how "neat" it would be too.

eta: Okay since when I push "quote" it does not pick up the post that chickielady was "quoting" only hers. How do I pick up all the quotes of a single post? I still have not figured that one out. Do you have to be a gold member to do this?

CR I need a small fridge like that if ya come across one.
Right now I am saving eggs in 2 coolers, with blue icies inside & rotating 6+ times a day, 4 different breeds...............

If I had a frig like you discribed I could have tuners inside on each shelf....be so much easier !
