My incubator is full of mutt eggs. I managed to get 42 fertile eggs from Harold before he left us for a new home.

Yep I got Rooster Eggs. My Harold is the best rooster /i ever have had. There is no doubt in my mind.

Totalcolour do you think your hen might have a hidden nest outside the fenced area and isn't able to escape and get back there??

Totalcolour - just another thought. You could try letting the hen out of the fenced area and following her. I have a hunch she will lead you right to the spot that others were concerned with. Bring a big stick and dog, just in case you do find something lurking.

Or she sees something she percieves is food?

Electric fence, and she has a Corgi that is adorable, but I bet true to her breeding will be ferocius if called upon.

Yup, Corgi has been know to attack racoons . . .

I really have no idea but my first idea would be a very good look at the area she is trying to get to. Any chance you have a missing bird that could be over there?

Unfortunately, she has disappeared! Nothing in that area that I could see either. Hope she comes home! (She hasn't been broody, so I don't think it's nest thing)

Be careful with a murder of crows. They can get very weird when you remove a member. My in-laws have quite the story about removing one. The rest of the murder circled the house for the rest of the day. Crows can be smarter than Chimpanzees.

Well, we have not built the barn yet, and cannot finsih the ceiling rock in this little barn until we move out of it...so it will be a while, maybe closer to the end of summer.
