That's just because we want to know where you'll be, and to keep you out of my coop, Rustler.

Oh, how wonderful!
My oldest spent her senior year in France. She absolutely loved it!
(I missed her so much! I ended up going over there for an entire month! We took off and roamed all through Italy, Germany and then back to France. A mom-daughter trip to remember forever!)
I'm really happy for your daughter, Dana!

I got nothin. I'm just checking in - been reading everyone's news, a lot of it GOOD news too! Glad Heather will be joining us in Monroe, 4312's family is going to be all together again - these are good things!

We had a nice Open House for Customer Appreciation Day at the shop yesterday. Lots of walk in business, all folks looking for an excellent deal on our wine. My biscotti came out perfectly - I can hardly stay out of the leftovers.

My daughter called from Pullman this morning on "Cloud 9". She just booked her own flight (for the first time) to Florence, Italy for the Study of Food and Wine. It is a summer school course that she'll be receiving 12 credits toward her major (Hospitality Business Management). In addition to class time, they'll be working 3 weeks in the kitchen restaurant, then 3 weeks in the front of the house. On weekends they'll be going on faculty led excursions to various places in Italy to visit wineries, cheese making factories, museums, etc. It is an amazing opportunity for her.

Of course, this cuts down drastically on the time I'll get to spend with her this summer, but we have to let them spread their wings, don't we?

But my good news is, I got 8 eggs out of my 10 girls today! That's a record for us!

Husband is at Emerald Downs right now, but told me this morning he wanted to take me out to dinner tonight when he gets home. I think I'll let him.

OK so I came across this video on artificial insemination of chickens... my question is why wouldnt you just let them do their thing naturally?

Some of the larger, fluffier breeds are hard to breed naturally, without trimming or plucking around their vents. Also, if you have high-priced show birds, you don't want roosters tearing up your hens. :)

I'll be there!
I'll bring a salad and if we're grilling I'll bring veggies for the grill!
Thanks for hosting, Ron!

ANNOUNCEMENT

I am planning a Chicken party at my house on Sunday July 1st. All the Washington Peeps are invited

spouses and kids are invited too. Just one thing, if you bring your kids you will have to keep an eye on them. probably will have to keep an eye on some spouses too
gig.gif
even though we are on 12 acres, there are TWO others house on it too. we have to respect their privacy ! about 4 or 5 acres are behind my house. theres not much too do here so the kids might get bored

Because I work in a bakery, I will supply Hamburger and Hot dog buns. Because CR lives way out in Tim buck too, he will supply the meat to go in the buns. probably some kind of Road Kill. we can pot luck the rest.

I will have more details later... just another little note. WA4-Hpoultrymom and her family are postponing a trip back east ( right Tamara ? ) just so they can come to my party and meet EVERYONE... so ya better show up

Well, I'm all caught up!
So glad to read that things are going a bit better for some folks!
Love the photos - babies, chicks, new dogs! Keep 'em coming!
Tax season is well underway so I'm not on here very often.
I'm still keeping the Monroe date free. I missed last year.
(BlueDucklings - do you still have my t-shirt?)

I am so ready for spring - not snow!
Time for us to start posting garden photos.....

Well, caught up on a few pages and posts worth!

It was so nice today I was out putting in forgotten/misplaced tulip bulbs. Potted some cool ones up in a 12" planter for the drawing bags at the Monroe Show!!!

Might have to bring a few dahlia tubers again too. Looks like my survival rate this winter was much better than last year.

Garden stuff in the future but not near future I fear. I did just catch the 11 o'clock news and they said snow Mon./Tues. 500 feet and up in our area so we should get it. Darn, after today it was almost all gone! Hope the pass doesn't get to bad for my trip to the east side for work later this week.
