Sleepy is so funny to watch!
They all love the pellets... it retains heat from the lamps and they love to scratch em around and sent em flying. the wood pellets also expand when wet and keep the brooder from stinking.
Gonna try alfalfa pellets once too to see if it does the same thing.... and they can eat the bits with no worries.

The next meet up we'll start with your schedule! Would love for you to be there!

The Snohomish Country WSU Extension Office in partnership with the Snohomish Country 4-H Program, is putting on a Livestock 101 class in April on the weekend of April 21-22. (....Yes, same date as Stevenson!!! So annoyed!..

..)

ANYWAY. My oldest DD will be helping teach the poultry class again this year!

This does require pre-registration, so sign up now! Each animal has it's own class/time that weekend. You can sign up for all 4 animals, or only one.

After seeing himself's other inventions & fencing I can hardly waite to know "the secret weapon"

My favorite of course is the cow with the hose up it's nose !!!!!!!!

Nah, it's some kind of gun with, get this, TWO barrels, interchangeable, with different caliber ammo!

My brother sent it to him - my brother makes custom silencers for folks who have difficult neighbours, if ya know what i mean. So, he has a lot of guns sitting around so he has a template sort of thing for when he gets an order.

Himself spent last night sighting it in, but didn't get very far because it got dark. Oh, well, he's got plenty of time before the weekend, but I did find some more half eaten eggs today. Grrr!
(I chased the crows off - I even saw a crow-duck fight. Duck won!)

Watch for rats & such as well...they love eggs !
This is a good reason to lock coops at night.
Big D (Boldogkennel aka Srucon) has Owls that fly right in her coops at night & feast.
She had a few game cocks tethered (gessied) and living in 55-gallon barrel huts, the tethers tied to stakes.
The owl took off with one full grown game cock, tether & all, stake pulled out of the ground she herself said she could not pull the stake out...and she keeps expecting to find the tether hanging from a high tree.
Yes DH here was all set to go buy such an interchangible barrel gun not long ago.
Til I did a A -HMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!! enough guns for crying out loud !!! we need a house !!!!!
