Getting excited!!!! Who's cooping in tonight? We plan to coop most of ours in tonight as the girls need to bring their showmanship birds in the morning and I will bring my birds for sale up in the morning. We will have for sale, a trio of Lavender Orps, pet quality (too big) serama cockerels/roo's, black BLRW cockerels, one splash marans cockerel and might bring some lav/split project Orp hatching eggs.......

I can bring sticky labels for name tags.
Does anyone have a sign? I think Cloverleaf made one for us last year, but then I couldn't go, so don't know where it is?
I could make another one if needed?

If anyone is coming up tonight to coop in, traffic at rush hour is AWFUL on 405 N and on 522.
I would suggest taking 405 N to 520 east, stay on it until it ends and you will be on Avondale Rd. Go not even a mile on this and take a right on Novelty hill Rd and go left at the end of it.
At the next light, go right, across the valley on 124th. At the round-a-bout, go left, on SR 203 North. It will take you straight to Monroe. When you get into town, go left on SR 2 West until you get to the fairgrounds (right after the 522 overpass). You will avoid much traffic this way!!!! 520 may be backed up a bit around Microsoft, but not nearly as bad as 405/522.

Saturday morning, yes, go 405 to 522.

Oh, coop in tonight is from 6:00 to 8:00. Set up starts at 2:00 I think if anyone wants to help. My girls have a half day today, but we are hosting one of their book club meetings here after school until 2:30. After that is over, we will be loading up and heading over as soon as we can to help!

So I want to go so bad!! If I did Im going the back way from 18 will there be flooding?

CR. I-5 to 405 to 522 which ends in Monroe. Not only is it the quickest way to go it's the best on gas. All freeway driving.

Right now, I'm worried about Snoqualmie!! 5 hour delay yesterday and Terry would love to come to the show, but he has to be back to be up at 2am to drive?? Maybe white pass would be better?? It was clear when he went through yesterday?? He is afraid we will get stuck coming back and he won't make it to work!! Just watch and wait, we can't leave till early in the am anyway!!

Cool can't wait to see what you bring.

I'll try the emergency section. I put a post in the Incubation and hatching forum but all I got was a first time hatcher. who is watching my thread.

depending on what day they were to hatch, if they pip I wait about 12 hours, maybe a little longer, then I try to help, I don't do all of it, but the biggest I've run across is shrink wrapping, but if you are doing still incubating it may not be a problem. I still go into the bathroom, and use warm water and damp paper towels and just try to help the chick out a little, opening very carefully with tweezers where it started to pip, BUT, if you see any blood, at all, stop!! I only take off the dried shell and membrane, then if I think the chick is strong enough I put it back in the bator to finish hatching, it's worked for me, I have hatched a few completely and had complications, for me I think it's better to let them try to finish, it will tell whether they are strong enough to live. Just MHO!

It's wonderful when your child gets to be old enough to help. Kids need to have the opportunity to learn about and do adult things. I would still recommend additional zinc for the terminal crud. It is also possible that you all have just had the Whooping cough. I remember hearing that there have been a number of cases in the Snohomish County area. Things like whooping cough doesn't respect county lines either.

My DS had Whooping cough when he was about 7 years old. We had gone camping, and I had to take him to the hospital in Bremerton. For some reason my kids often got sick while we were on vacation. I know where most of the small town hospitals are in the State of Washington. lol I hope you get better quickly.

I agree... I believe that kids learn by doing... If they are aloud to help they learn and it gives them pride and a since of accomplishment. I am headed to the store this afternoon and gonna pick up some Zinc and Vit C. some orange juice and more raw honey. YUM.... I thought it was whooping cough there has been an outbreak here bad. There was 6 cases at their school. But when I called their Ped she listened to them coughin over the phone and said it sounds like its just a flu like cough no wheezing or anything thats normal with whooping cough so she said unless it gets worst or sounds worst not to bring them in.With the flu there is nothing the DR can really do. With all the germs at the drs I dont want to expose them to anything more then I have to. Good news is I feel a lot better today. Hopefully it will pass.

Hi All,
I have 2 English Orp babies that are a week old, 100% English. They are both blues. I have no idea if they are kockerels or pullets or 1 of each. But they need a new home. I have to go out of town and there will be no one to babysit them. I will need local pick up only. I live down By Vancouver Wa. just asking $15 each.
