Well hell. I just lost Twila, one of my Salmon Faverolles girls. I went out to the run to give the girls their treats because I always try to get out and say goodnight to them and I noticed Twila wasn't running for the BOSS like everyone else was. She stood vacantly with her mouth open and just as I got to her she sat down. I picked her up and brought her into the house to try and get her to drink some water with vitamins but she wasn't responding. Just laying in my arms breathing... Within a few minutes she shuddered and stopped breathing. I feel terrible. I loved that girl.

I looked her over and didn't see any mites or bugs on her but her crop was empty, so I don't know how long she hadn't been eating. I'd been gone all weekend and now I'm feeling awful that I didn't notice earlier she wasn't feeling well. I don't know what was wrong with her. I'm going to have DH bury her in the corner of the yard, but before we bury her is there anything I should look for so maybe I can figure out what happened? It seemed to happen so fast.
Darn it anyway. I am going to miss her.
wow this is awful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think maybe she had an impacted crop or shavings blocking the crop ?
Only thing you can do is necropsy to ever know.

Oh, and coud someone tell me how to get multiple quotes in the darn box? I keep trying but can't seem to get it. I think I did it once but that was a while ago and I can't do it again! So frustrated!

It's got to be something simple and I am making it too hard, right?

HELP!

You click the "Multi" box on each quote you'd like to include and after you have them all selected, you click on the "Quote" box to post your post. Hope that helps.

Regarding shrub or ? What about a bleeding heart bush? I believe they like shady areas.
You know the deciduous azaleas called Exbury Variety? Deciduous, shade loving, fragrant, and several of them come in Corgy colors, amber/apricot/peach. The Barn out in Tumwater should have some nice ones (you'll have to drive past Bark and Garden Center, I know, but I've had terrible luck with their plants).
I'd go with Forgetmenots. Beautiful blue flowers.
They will grow in the shade and come back every year.
All fabulous idea, I think I may use ALL of them and make a little garden - perhaps even put in a little bench so I can sit and read on a spring afternoon.

I've put a breeding pair of Lavender Orpingtons up for auction, both hatched in January, available for pickup only. I also have some interesting project birds, including some gorgeous white Silkie-feathered Cochins (sire was a Frizzle), a birchen Frizzle, etc. for sale. :D
