Saturday is "THE BIG DAY" for the CornishX - time to say goodbye to all this lovely sunshine, say their prayers and go bye-bye. They are immense I tell ya. The ones from last week last 3 meals and then a pot of soup, so with the added week, they are going to be monsters. I'm looking forward to a much reduced feed bill!

I wonder if there is a market for chicken feet around here, I hate throwing stuff away (dog eats the heads)!

And a few gooses, and some ducks and maybe even a few bunnies. May as well get it all done at once. Hmm, I wonder, what can I do with those huge bunny feet?

And did I tell y'all, I don't have to shovel rabbit poo any more. Put an ad on Craigslist and people come and do it for me!
Actually, I have never shoveled rabbit poo, himself does it, haha! I did the ad as a kindness to him.

I use first aid tape on their feet so when you remove it , it wont take all the feathers off. Maybe you can use heavy paper and tape it to the feet. Have someone hold them on their backs and that way you can get to the feet. Thats what I do. Good luck

Is there a way you can take your youngest sister to live with you? I hope they find the other one soon,you might want to put her picture on here so we can keep a eye out for her? Just a thought. Im sorry your Dad is like that.

Well, I really wish I had some news, but none to speek of yet. Trying to talk to all of her friends and no one seems to know where she is. My grandma is going to my dads house now to get find the most recent pic of Rachel so we can make flyers.

On a happier note, I did get my new chicks today that I traded my sweet lil goat for. He said they are all about 8 wks old and they were charging between $3-$7 for them. So the trade was for $75 worth of pullets. I was thought I would get between 9 and 12....... I got ....... 18

There are 4 Buff Orps, 3 Silver Laced W's, 2 that I think are Red Stars? 7 Black sexlinks and 2 that I am not sure what they are, one might be a blue cochin and is very tiny so could be a bantom and the other looks like the sexlinks but very small and with out the red coloring on the chest. They all have some feathers missing as I am assuming that they were in to small of an area. Here are some pics.......

This one looks like a mini Black Sexlink, any ideas?????

This one (laying down) is really small and has fearther legs and feet. Not sure if you can see it but she has darker grey on her head, neck and chest. Then lighter grey on the rest of her. Again, any ideas??????

I think your black pullet looks like an Australorps. I have one and I love her - super friendly! I was digging in my garden yesterday, and she stays closest to the shovel so she gets the most worms; sometimes I can even lift het up on a shovel-load of dirt, and she does not even spook!

I'm so sorry about your sister; how scary. I hope she walks through your door any minute, safe and unharmed.

Champagne D'Argents, Standard Rex's (Black and blue Otter and Broken) (my Florida white's recently just died so I'm looking for new ones).

Are you breeding for show or meat? We are doing it for meat only.

I agree with Ogress. the black one looks like a Australorp. I have a Black sexlink and she has red feathers around her neck and about 1/3 of the way down her body.
